Tucson this weekend!

We been callin' shops and trying to get some interest out there but everyone is soo busy making money hand over fist that they do nto ahve time to come out to the show! Wow, I need a shop in Tucson! HEHE


Seriously, it is a long drive and we hope to have a few turn out there. If you are in the area let everyone know we are goonna be there!

I have not seen a single flyer for this event anywhere I will be there I have been spreading the word also about this event. You sponser the shop and i'll run it for you The $5 gate fee alone should attract attention!!!

I'll be there Ralph so expect my money for Mod 1001-2000 (stupid 2 amp limit rule in Mod 0-1000, lol) Street Beat 4 and Street Q

Ralph, really? I saw the flyer for this show, freakin false advertisement! They put us a half mile from the fairground, in a freakiin dirt field with a hokie ass setup and still made us park across the dirt from the spl booththey made us pay 25 flippin bucks to park in this dirt, there's a whole 5 cars for spl, 4 ocf us drove 8plus hours for this, also a loud dj for the car show people of 8 show cars. But yet thweres a full blown show that matches the flyer on the fairgrounds, why is this!) Now ill go pay my registration to compete against myself..so now me n tom need directions so we can take my kids to the carnival! WTF!!!!!!!! I'm out 200 buks in just gas alone!! I'm really starting to lose my drive to keep supporting you guys!! And jaffey how dare you......u should be here at least id have a friand here......

I had to pay $25 to enter the gate cuz the DIBM guy personally told me that i had to participate in the Car show cuz no one showed up and he already bought trophies! The vendors for beer and food didn't even stay the full duration of the event. There was no burn out,drifting,drag race, or anything! It was basically a SOUND OFF COMPETITION WITH NO SPECTATORS. I feel bad for Tom, Biscuit and anyone else who attended from out of state to be at this event, cuz they put in the time and money to make it there on time to compete! Guys, what we were promised and what transpired were two different things. USACI was a guest at this show and had no part in the promotion, logisitcs, or the setup. You were supposed to pay $5 for entry, not $25. The DIBM guy lost his shirt "literally" and the show was not good at all. There were a lot more than 8 entries, actaully 19 paid. That said, not nearly enough to drive 23 hours each way. Fuel and Hotels were more than the entry fees. Then the director's engone blew up on the way home in Oklahoma!

Not good for anyone invlolved and we are VERY SORRY this show was not what it was billed as. We are going to review our decisions to co-locate these type of events in the future.

Ralph or Jaffe would not have made a difference. This was a DIBM production and we were there as guests only. We had no part in the running of, promotion of, or success and failure of the event other than our decision to participate.

So after driving 400 miles through the desert of Arizona this is what the front of my car looked like



My windshield was so splattered with bugs that I could barely see out at night. It was a good thing I spent $50 to get the car detailed just so I can drive and park in a dirt lot. You know Ralph 8 of those 19 entries were from our 4 cars that came up from Vegas, just think that $25 we were charged to get into the show could have been used by competitors who wanted to enter another class but didnt budget that entry fee. I could guarantee just from us you could have gotten at least 5 more entries

I disagree Ralph, Jaffe has a loyal following in Arizona and he would have gotten the word out and his normal cast of competitors would have shown up. I agree it was a piss poor event that was poorly advertised and poorly ran (why there was an active fair just steps away and we were not included with it, hell they were running their own car show so why 2 shows at the same location?) You say it was a 25 hour drive each way plus hotel so why didn't Jaffe run the show? Granted he was in Hobbs the day before I'm sure he could have made it to Tucson in time

Yea what Tom said, the big reason I went was becasuse we were under the assumption the some of our fav people would be out there..and dang near half of the entries were us, and we did get ass jacked to park on dirt..I would have been great to seee ralph or JAFFEY out there, yea you Jaff, you probably drove right by us on the way home!!lol... but on a serious note we did what we could to make the best of a show we could and in the process did mostly demos for the locals, so it was cool, all 5 of them..and to 520 anytime mang, maybe well see ya at a vegas show sometime! hint hint.....remember also, my fuel bill alone came to $240 for the trip...75 for entry fees....80 food...175 for recone kits cuz i stinked up my subs for the squirls out there... 50 for bug removal after i already detailed the front.....and my truk didnt like the drive so its goin to the shop on friday....but the look on peoples face when we roll in creating multiple earthquakes.....PRICELESS!

You know, sometimes things just do not work out like you wnat them to. That same weekend there was another show not too far away that was well promoted in advance by a well known individual who has been an avid advocate of good promotion and a critic of USACI doing shows with these car show promoters. How did his show go?

His show, EXACT same number of entries as USACI had!

We are truly sorry the show did not go better and have tried to contact most if not all of the competitors who attended to make it up to them. We want our competitors to be happy and have fun!

hey, ive been competing usac since 02, and this is the only 2nd show ive gone to thats been a bust, and all in all,YES, Ralph does take care of his competitors when he is aware of things.. thanks for the input guys! we still need more west coast shows!

I was at a another competition organization's (a four letter word that has been mentioned in the last couple posts...) show in NM the day of this show and it was by far the absolute worst show I could have ever imagined. I can't explain how bad it was, but you guys are lucky you were at the show you were at.

I wish I could have been at the USACi show in AZ that day, but if I had the opportunity to do that I would have made the Hobbs show first. BTW they had like 85 entries there...

Let me rant about one little thing while I'm thinking about that show:
How can anyone who does installs be trained as a (four letter word) SQ judge?
They can never say one of their installs wins or they're biased and it's an unfair judging. They can never say one of their installs loses or they're a lousy installer that just took some dude for $4,000 on an install that can't even win with his biased ass judging. The RTA and the TL are the only non-biased ways of judging IMO
