SB RULES

OK I HAVE A ? DOESNT THE RULES SAY NO EXTERIOR MODS SO IF SOMEONE WAS RUNNING MDF AS A HEADLINER THERE WOULDNT BE AN ISSUE RIGHT

i don't read anything abotu exterior modifications. so even mdf all over the outside of the vehicle steel braces whatever is "legal" but that rule about the event directer can tell you its not legal whenever they want kinda makes a HUGE grey area

I have a BIG question myself. The rule state that commercially available music must be played (no burned CDs). Does this restrict the competitor to a CD or can an IPOD or Hard drive be used?

I assumed you would need to show a store bought CD for verification. However I have seen several guys run this year using IPOD or other drive type music. Which could all be "BURNED". What is the rule?

i am with mr roberts on this one i posted a question in a thread earliear this week about that samething hoping we could do it cause it would be easier on some people who don't like lodging around that big cd book anymore lol. dbdrag is doing it so i don't think it should be a problem for us too do it.
i said as long as we can show the album cover on the the ipod that it should be okay, but matt sibley said that it too can bee tampered with also, i have tried it myself before an never could get my album covers from burned cd's on my itunes. just a thought

On an mp3 player, flash drive etc it takes things away from competition guys that know how to add bass an change octaves etc will benefit from a stronger signal then others on the song, as well as guys that do big numbers, but often have issues with skipping will now have the easy answer. Personally I could care less, but we have to understand both sides of the story here.

i get what your saying bro i know there are guys out there that will prolly pull that off an play with some tones are whatever behind the songs an such, but i don't think my score is higher either way. i say lets do the mp3, ipod thing in sb for the simple fact a lot of us go out an buy whole cd's for one song sometimes two. i know a bunch of you sb guys has cause i have. With mp3 an ipods you can save that 14bucks an spend only a 1.29 or in some guys case just 2min of download time an spend no money lol.

I just want the rule clarified. I have a vehicle coming to Finals that can use either one. He uses a store bought CD for his runs but he got smoked by a guy running with a hard drive a few weeks ago.

at finals ya got to show the judge the cd to confirm its not a burnt cd and he watches you put it in the deck. and makes sure its set on cd . its done by the same judge that watches your voltage .

CORRECT THE JUDGE MUST VERUIFY THE CD YOU ARE RUNNING IN THE LANES MEANING IT MUST BE A CD I HOPE THERE IS NO MORE CONFUSION NOW

Per Rules and Ethics decision regarding last year's SB Finals, the General Rules of USACi DO NOT apply to Street Beat, so the rules for that class are the ONLY rules they have to read.

well some rules as of the cd will be checked by a judge means that you have to run a cd and not a gay ass mp3 player understand now how the rules apply to all

i think it should be our choice but i also think it should be looked into also since like i said most guys buy all their music to go on these i know i do.

then get all your music from itunes and you wont be able to use it. WWWWWWWWWWWWWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA if you want to compete follow the rules as they are written. if you find a song to use buy the cd it is pretty fornicating simple. gotta pay to play Dung Pile ain't free.

I agree with troy on that. Download for free or for cheap all you want, when you find the song buy the damn original cd an presto your good to go. See if you download somthing that isnt commericially available your still not following the rules now are you?

other than the rules may be revamped if deemed necessary at a later date. ugh

who's using mp3 players in street beat????? IS THIS GOING TO BE LEGAL???? hopefully it doesn't change day of?????
