how i spent my weekend..graphic pics! ***CAUTION***

So, hopefully this dont get deleted . but i thought you other box builders might enjoy the wreckage i caused this weekend with the table saw...luckly i had Drew jones(bassaholic) to rush me at an average blazing speed of about 45mph lol to i think the farthest hospital away ever!! thanks drew, really! .. haha

but the damage was pretty much as bad as it looks, once the blade hit the joint/bone it kinda just exploded everything. did surgery that night ,Got to keep the tip, but the joint has 2 pins and will be fused. and i have no idea how its all gona look.wasent much to stitch up and the nail is totally ripped off besides the small strip you can see.its all wrapped up in a cast right now, i get to have a look on thursday, prolly take more pics then.. so... here i am hurting and popping pills lol

yeah man, ant any reason to be all sad about it .. wont help it lol im sorta bummed though, kinda like WTF did i do..i have a mental pic a split second before this happened ..and them bam, jamming my arm back at me . i was cutting some like 3inch strips, i dont know how my thumb ended up there..

damn dude that really sucks now i am afraid to even touch mine man, hell i may even go dig up that damn guard i use to have one it lol. like someone said before at least your in good spirits man thats all that matters right there cause there ain't no reason in whining about it right lol.

so did you cut the tendon in half top and bottome? I did that and lost top tendon and stretched and pulled and they sewed it back up.... But looks like you went through both bro................OUCH

jim i dont think i got any ..most of the damage was in the joint..which it totally shredded. docs says about 1/8th inch more and i would of started tearing that type of stuff up. but as soon as the teeth hit bone it shot it out.. dave...my guard is going back on lol even then i get a chill when i think about going out and fireing it back up.. im just tryin to see what was there to stitch up?? thanks for the get well wishes.. if all else fails, i got about half a pound of good black CA glue in the woofer room

Dang man sorry to hear this. You should always use something (other than your hand) to push the wood through when cutting small strips like that to prevent this from happening! You can never be too careful (coming from a guy who free hands stuff on the table saw )
