| Hello everyone,
When we started talking about bringing finals to Tulsa this year we knew we would have to sacrifice our T-town show. That being the case we wanted to make the BOS round the coolest it has been in years. So, after much discussion with Ralph and various competitors this is what we came up with.
The Best of Show round will be an invitational money round. The top 15 cars will be given an invite to the BOS round. The invites will be decided by the USACI SQ judging staff based on the competitors SQ and Installation scores.
Entry and Prize Money:
Those 15 competitors will receive and invite that Saturday night. The cost to enter the BOS round will be $100.00 per competitor. This will go directly to the prize fund which will include another $1000.00 from Ralph/USACI and $1500.00 from manufacturers. That brings the prize purse for the BOS round to $4000.00.
Judging:
The Judging staff will consist of 3 pairs of judges. We will be using 3 USACI SQ judges and 3 Guest Judges. The guest judges will be professional musicians and live sound engineers.
That is the details we have so far....as things develope we will keep you guys and gals posted.

| Did I hear someone mention donkeys????
Chris is gonna break out the donkeys too?? I thought he gave up that trick back in college...
Chris - that was just a stab to get you back for farting in that bandpass enclosure and then sticking me in the trunk to tune the amp that one time. Damn...first bass note and I damn near died...

| My only concern about the whole idea is the money the competitor is putting out for one event. The idea is fantastic but look at what the competitor is already paying for for the world finals event. Travel expenses $200 Hotel $300-$400 Usaci World finals SQ entry fee $150 Usaci World Finals "Q" Fee $100 Chance to win money in your class $100 BOS opportunity $100
Not to put a damper on the whole thing but spending over $1000 dollars for sq competitors for one show is a big dent in someones wallet. Your averge joe, like myself cant do it. Is there another solution? I am open to ideas. Again, not putting a damper on the topic, its a great topic.

You do not have to spend the money on the last two. I know it is an extra expense, but to be able to give money away it has to come from somewhere, and right now this is the only way to make things like this happen. To be honest, many of you guys and gals were going to attend our event here in Tulsa, now you will not have that expense. In your case James it saves you 750.00 dollars, which should help offset that extra expense if you choose to enter those rounds. These things are optional, and that is the beauty of it.

| its not that i dont want to do it, or even want to pay for it. I think it would be awesome to do all the possibilities. Its just best of show will then need to encompass the expert cars and a consumer advanced car has a slim chance of competeing against those cars. If money is involved then all cars should be able to compete and yes Eldridge i will vote to put ya in this year hahahaha. It will be a great best of show competition for sure! But what if the best car at the show doesnt want to be judged for it? Then the winner of the best of show , in reality isnt the best car at the show. Make sense? I wish you all the best of luck in that competition hehehe. I will be watching that one for sure!!! I think I will put the extra money towards my entry fee for my class at finals. Jan, I am rooting for ya!!! Win the BOS again girl!!! lol | |

| Here is a few more details that may have not been clearly stated in my original post. First, the only classes that will be eligible for the BOS round will be Advanced Expert, Advanced Consumer, and Advanced Pro. This is how it used to be, and that is how we are going to approach it this time. I have discussed the extra entry fee with many top competitors and no one had a problem with it. | |

| so does each class go against itself such as consumer advanced best of show , pro advanced best of show and expert best of show or is it everyone vs. everyone for a overall best of show? It doesnt matter to me, I was just curious is why. Back in the day USACI had best of show in each division thats why the question was raised. | |

| My assumption to this is winner take all.
as in all against all. There are some consumer cars that could beat a few Expert cars...
Most expert entries are not daily driven cars. which is why they can devote more time into the cars. But cars like Lou Le, his is not a daily driven car, yet his is quite stellar in the installation department.
Jan's car is excellent...your Mustang, very clean, so I my opinion, anyone can win BOS which is why they are looking this direction to having an invitational BOS with a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.

| It will be everyone against everyone. Just like an invitational money round. Each judges will have a score sheet, and the scores will be averaged. Highest score wins it! | |
