| The truth is when u flagulate most of the time it is caused by the food or beverage u consume and primarily caused by gas build up do to that concumption. Now most of the time when u flagulate( from now on I will refer 2 it as fart for spelling reason) it IS filtered by clothing but some farts don't stink which leads me to anouther point. The farts that do not stink are the air pockets in between the poop and the farts that stink is the air around the poop. Now the finale thought is just my opinion and has now true backing except the fact that I am a fat man but when u are in the shower u are naked taking the filter out of the equation and the water hot or cold causes an imbalance n our central nervous system that let's the thicker air around the poop excape out our butts and the seal marble or plastic around showers bounces the smell around and the pressur from the water pushes the smell back in our face which in turn gives u the answer to ur question. Hope this helps

| Flatulence is the production of a mixture of gases in the digestive tract of mammals or other animals that are byproducts of the digestion process. Such a mixture of gases is known as flatus, and is expelled from the rectum in a process colloquially referred to as "passing gas" or "farting". Flatus is brought to the rectum by the same process which causes feces to descend from the large intestine. The noises commonly associated with flatulence are caused by the vibration of the anal sphincter, and occasionally by the closed buttocks. | |

| Nitrogen, the main constituent of air, is the primary gas released during flatulence, along with carbon dioxide which is present in higher quantities in those who drink carbonated beverages regularly. The lesser component gases methane and hydrogen are flammable, and so flatus containing adequate amounts of these can be ignited. However, not all humans produce flatus that contains methane. For example, in one study of the faeces of nine adults, only five of the samples contained archaea capable of producing methane. Similar results are found in samples of gas obtained from within the rectum.
The gas released during a flatus event frequently has an unpleasant odor which mainly results from low molecular weight fatty acids such as butyric acid (rancid butter smell) and reduced sulphur compounds such as hydrogen sulphide (rotten egg smell) and carbonyl sulphide that are the result of protein breakdown. The incidence of odoriferous compounds in flatus increases from herbivores, such as cattle, through omnivores to carnivorous species, such as cats.[citation needed] Such odor can also be caused by the presence of large numbers of microflora bacteria and/or the presence of faeces in the rectum. | |

| they asked this question on a talk radio show a few days ago....they had a scientists on the air that says if you humidify or dampen the area around the nose it amplifies the sense of smell...he went on to say that's why animals with a strong sense of smell like a deer or dog have wet noses....he said the same for a shark who can smell blood from miles away.....mine always smell rosey | |

| Well we can rule out the shower making our noses more acute to the smell. I gassed off today after about 12 hours of crack sweat and it went through 4 layers of clothese and still could of knocked down a water buffalo. | |

| its not really the shower as much as the downward force of the water and if your sweat was heavy enough to have the full participation of gravity then that along with the thickness would explaine everything | |
