| ok guys..dont really come over here much cause im a crx and s10 spl guy but ...im probably gettin a ford expedition. and im looking to do a sq set up just for daily use. im not wanting to spend crazy money..but i dont want to go without if ya know what i mean. i can fit components up front 6.5 in doors or kick panel if yall think that is better? but anyways, im lookin for what your guys think is the best set of components at a good price...i heard mb quarts premium are nice, but dont know much on this side of the game. is an eq worth it? any other idea would be awesome guys..thank in advanced | |

| just remember that since you are doing this for yourself and not for competition, your possibilities are endless.
You don't have to worry about rear fill, cause you aren't competing, you don't have to worry about being too bass heavy, cause you aren't competiting.
So here are some questions...
What year is the Expedition? Center Console shifting or not, that will determine if you want kick panel speakers or not. If you have a center console like the Lincoln Navigator, you might be out of luck for good imaging. Look into a smaller two way setup for possibly the dash or the A-Pillars. Hybrid, Dynaudio, and Focal make some like that...or you can go to PartsExpress.com and pick out some of your own.
Let your ears do the talking...what sounds good to you most likely will have a different effect on us. So pick your speakers with care and to the pleasure of your hearing.
Budget can play a part, but proper speaker placement can trump the price of speakers ( the implied feeling that price makes the product ) and you can save many bills this way.
This group here is a wealth of knowledge...we are here to help. | |

| I would say the Rainbow SLC's would be an excellent choice. Or the Hertz ESK 165's or 165L is you want 3 way | |

| does have a center console, but no shifter on the console. now like i said..i can talk all day bout spl and gain yall dbs lol but i have no idea bout this stuff. i listen to hip hop idk if that helps. some rock. ive kinda brought it down to four components, rainbow slx 265 or slc 265 ( how big of a difference in these two sets ?), Focal 165-V1, and mb quart pvi-216 ( heard good things bout the mb quart). now i understand that it is all goin to come down to my preference but im just lookin for alittle guidence thru the dark tunnel. so in need of much help with imaging ( big time ), how much power to each side, in the rear doors should i put mid bass or another set of components, and another idea yall may have. thank you very much on the info you have giving me. | |

| check out the DD Euro components, http://www.ddaudio.com/dd/dda.asp that is what I run in my truck and I absolutely love them. I used to run CDT HD components and they are no where near as nice as these in my opinion. The lower end DD are ok for the money but nothing that great. Hope this helps | |
