| I have a 3 cubic ft box for one type x 12 but need to know what to tune it to. I need a little SQ because of being a everyday driver, but still want it as loud as possible. I was thinking around 31hz but people tell me that is to low. Need some expert advice. the box will be in a 81' cutlass supreme.[b] | |

| Yeah, I was being kinda dumb last night. Sorry =)
30-40 is good for daily music IMO, unless you want more SPL, Then tune higher 45+.
And also, If that box is as big as the Alpine recomends for the sub, then it will take alot less power to get it to full excursion. Which would explain the surround messing up. | |

| I used a 3.25 cu ft box tuned to 32hz for daily in my 94 Grand prix and it was great for sq and hit hard. 1200 watts rms. | |

| If you are trying to get the best of both worlds (sq and spl), try tuning the box between 35-45 hertz. The lower it is tuned, the better the sq but the higher it is tuned the better the spl. But if you tune it too high or too low, you might not like the results. | |
