Joint Finals a success. USACI numbers down due to very remote (from USACI) location but better than expected. Results posted on web site.

First topic message reminder :

In order facilitate to better communications with the membership we are forming a competitor committee. The committee will be consisting of two representatives from each region of the US. These Competitor Reps will communicate with the members and make themselves available to the competitors who have questions or concerns they wish to have voiced. The committee will meet once a month and make a list of items to bring to USACI. Two executive committee members will then participate in a conference call with USACI to present the committee items.

Bruce Ogden of Kansas City has been appointed the inaugural member and chairman of the committee. Bruce will coordinate and organize all committee activities.

Any persons interested in representing their region of the country please contact Bruce on the forum, by e-mail or cell.

Before it gets out of hand,Bruce, I think we should do it by regions. Competitors are used to it and it would not interfere with territorials. But that is just my 2 cents, suggestion. I does not have to be that way. We just have to work together to make this happen.

I like this with the exception of it be 8 people to give us diversity of opinions in each regional area and for the simple fact this could easily become a fulltime job for one person if they handle all that territory.

I think 2 per Region. More things can get done by 2 people. Sometimes one person might not be available, then what? We need the committee to be strong. We don't need a one man show.

I think that it should depend on how big the region is, and how many competitors that region has.

Im thinking one SQ and one SPL guy 2 in east 2 in west 2 in north and 2 maybe three in south. That way all SPL and SQ questions and concerns could maybe get answered.. And yes i love to help and would do anything for any of you guys but there are times that it is hard to reach me.. I run a shop and do shows and i wouldn't want to put anyone off, so lets make sure everyone has plenty of help...... Just a thought not a demand.

"I hope those chosen for this will voice concerns passed onto them even if they don't agree with them so that everyones voices are heard."

This is a very good point. I think careful consideration should be made when choosing who represents a region... Those chosen should be level headed and fair. Any volunteers should also be sure they truly have the time, patience and knowledge of the rules etc. that will be required to do this right.

Is Iowa considered Midwest or upper Midwest? Zac would be a good choice for upper if he has the time.

I'm still down. Just need to brush up a little on some of my SPL rules. From what Iv'e seen Jimbo and Sketoe may have the South covered but we have quite a few competitors down here. It seems like it's going to be alot of work. I'd be more than happy to give either of those guys a hand if they needed it! And I bet they would give me a hand if I needed it. Jimbo should have this one in the bag. He is very knowledgable about both SQ and SPL.

I think Zac Davis and I would be good choices for the upper midwest. Zac has done a lot in this sport and is always fair and looking out for all competitors, not just himself. I have been a Usaci judge for the last three seasons and do sq builds at the shop and my boss (Larry Pagelsdorf) is the regional director. Zac and I also talk and get along well. I already sent Bruce a message but haven't heard anything, so I am again letting it be known that I am interested in participating in this.

Thanks for the metion but I simply don't have enough spare time after running a business family etc. Don't feel I could dedicate the time and energy that would be needed to do the job right. Also the stress cause by simply reading and responding to the forum can get to be too much as it is Laughing
