Criminal. The city council is violating civil rights and should be charged as such. Ignorance is the mother of rights and power abuse. Why not suspend the constitution and declare martial law in Rockford?

Someone has to stand up and challenge this ignorance. Any real court will throw it out in a minute!

Constitution? We still have one of those? Kind of ironic the the city name is Rockford.

It always pisses me off a harley can ride around raising hell in 1st gear shaking windows and its ok cause "loud pipes save lives"
but a stereo not even half as loud is a nuicance.

i dont live there but im sure its due to the dumb kids who bump at 3 am in the morning to try and wake up the whole town... gosh fricken idiots!

This always happens all over,They can never inforce that law. Don't worry about it.

lol We have gotten in trouble for noise violation here. In fact, most recently this summer because we were heard more than 100 ft away or some bs. I think it sucks.... =(

i was just over there for a wedding two months ago and there were nice cars bumping around town. Whats stupid about it is some person can point and say that car and that one too and boom the car is towed. "I hate you so i am gonna say you were loud" its so childish....

they tried to pull this in st louis..and MERA stepped in and really helped fix it up...i dont know the conacts there...but maybe they should hear about it ..but.on a side note..i got "arrested" in st louis county for my explorer system..it was a big cruising strip with aton of other people..but the explorer tends to shake things and turn heads...anyway..i didnt actaully have to go to jail..i had to sign papers and go home..but it cost me 160 bucks..they are pretty harsh on it since they cant take our cars or systems away like they pushed for...

Buncha bs. I am glad I don't live in a town where they bump there music at all hours of the night. I very rarely hear anything except on the weekends.

Someone does need ot stand up and fight that.

It started in Chicago about 5 or 6 years ago, now it's made its way to its ritzy suburb around Shaumburg Estates with million dollar homes. Keep in mind that some of these homes are hundereds of feet from the street.
This new law has the potential of being abused by any Rockford residents without any penalty.


I know this new ordinance is ridiculous, but to be fair to those who do not violate noise ordinance laws, the city should also be able to fine residents at least $2000.(to cover impound fees and other charges) for inaccurately accusing or mis-identifies someone of playing loud music.
