I was told it couldn't be used for anything other than test and tune because of specs. Apparently mine are out of spec, but no one can give me accurate specs. No one knows actual specs, but for some reason mine are wrong...
I originally built them for t&t anyways though

The extra ring around it wouldn't be hard to add.
Something was said about the rings being made out of 3/16 rod instead of 1/4. An 8" outside radius is 8 inches no matter how you look at it? The one I actually measured was between 8½"-8¾" (apparently wasn't perfect circle) so I built mine roughly 9". Adding the ring in the center will make it 9⅜". Which in turn just puts the mic further away from everything.
Apparently the measurement fluctuates (¾" tolerance) so personally, I don't see the big deal.

Figure out what angle you want the mic to face and I'll get you one that we can just mount in the truck. It doesn't have to sit on the floor, As long as its forward the b-pilar and nothing inside the globe.

Did you somehow bend yours like that or did shipping do it? scratch I know it was perfect circle when it left me. Have anymore problems with it let me know. Those rings are pretty tough to bend but I also know USPS don't play... Basketball

I don't like the idea of people using their own globes at all. I am 100% sure there are ones being used that smashed to a football shape to fit places.. I think we should always have to use the supplied globe. But its usaci.. always some little BS like this to turn people away.

Jigs are easy make. Screwing back strap or something bendable down to hook.around the globe works good.
