| You could be in stock if you bring that amp down below the glass and take off the bracing | |

| supermod man any mods done outside the vehicle for bracing does in deed put you in the same class as your buddy
now if you are "blowing the window out" then you need to get that \"Female dog\" re-sealed because ill bet you arent even poping over 157 on the termlab.

The way you want it? Really? You got a royal fukin if you spent 3500 on that install. At least try to conceal the wiring and find something better than 2x4's to mount that amp to. Not really dicking on you, just saying. Some 2" suction cups used for handling glass and a lil strapping on the inside will handle the problem and you can have someone hold it in during the runs.

| u must not have read my topic about rhino lining my blazer? try reading it n u might understand more. i do my own installs, n thanx for proving my point, its people like u that make me mad. i do what i can with the money i have. im a guy yhat dont have alot of money, the $3500 i put into my system was for the deck subs custom built box (rhyno lining my box) amp wiring n batteries. i install my own stuff. so thanx for letting me know its not done the "the right way" n instead done the i can manage to pay for it. how much money in ALL do u have in ur system? my guess is its WAY more than me. now that thats off my chest n i feel alittle better what do u mean n how would i do it with the 2" suction cups n some strapping on the inside? im trying to stay in super stock class. | |

| if doing super stock ya need to move the amp below window line ......... 3500 for what ya got aint to bad ..as for the suction cups he means one one each side of the inside back glass then 1 on each side window and run a small strap between the two and it would hold that back glass in place ...instead if using self tappers and screwing threw the out side of the body ,,, at least that is what i got out of it | |

| I dont have alot of money either, with 5 kids.I have approximately 3700 dollars in my system. I do my own installs and I never buy from a shop. ( Sorry to you shop guys) I have 2 Planet BB2400 1 Planet bb4150 8 Powerbass 10" 3xl excelon head unit and all associated wiring and install materials. My amps alone retail for around 2700 at the shops and I only spent 775 on them. What i meant was you could spend your money wiser. Rowland understood what I meant with the suction cups. | |

| k. sorry for getting pissy earlier. but wouldnt the suction cups n straps still be a form of bracing? n i thought it was stock class that the amp had 2 b blow the window line? see this is what im saying, i dont know much as far as competing. i went to the comp here last yr n got my ass handed 2 me n so this yr i have a personal goal of tring 2 @ least place. getting as big as you can while staying in the lowest class you can, isnt that the name of the game? so if i remove the outside window braces but leave the amp where it is what class would i b in? n i like gong 2 my local shop cuz even if i dont buy from him he is still more than willing 2 give me some advise n help me out. ( y do you think i dont have a dc audio amp 2 go with my dc audio subs, thier amps r exspensive) another problem im having is my amp is clipping bad when i put in the usaci cd n it turns itself off. any ideas y? not enough power 2 the amp? @ the amp it reads 14.4 volts with the volume all the way down n @ listening level it reads 13.5 13.6. | |

| Amp wont be working much longer if you leave it where it is while you listen to music....
Go to a hardware store and get some 3M window weld. It comes in a caulk tube. Wear gloves when you put it on.

Could be low voltage at the amp, could be ohm load incorrect ( how many coils in each sub and what resistance are they) Could be the vibrations from the box causing the clipping. Size of the amp? Number of batteries?

| the subs r dvc 2 ohm. the way they r wired up now reads a 2.4 ohm load @ the amp. 4 comps i am going 2 wire it down 2 1/2 ohm @ the amp. the amp is sapose 2 put out 4300 watts rms @ 1 ohm. n i only have a reg 975 cca car battery in the back( thinking thats my biggest problem) but its all i could aford. a cat battery is 2 big 4 the space i have. what im sure i need is 2 modle 2000 bat caps or 1 modle 4000 bat cap but thats money i nolonger have. anybody have some powerfull used batteries 4 sales? (cheap) lol. n thats probly what ill do, just ask some people @ the comps 2 help hold down my window cuz ya the glass has 2 open b4 the tailgait will open. n i would love 2 move my amp below the window line but if u can tell from the pics my box takes up alot of room( got it tuned around 46hz for comps but put a board in 4 daily listeng that retunes it around 33hz) so where could i remount the amp? i was told that mounting amps virticaly is bad 4 the amp n it also bad 4 the amp 2 have little breathing room. on the drivers side of the box can i cut out that plastic below the window line n mount it virticaly there? n if so what class would that put me in? i literaly have no other place 2 mount it n keep it below the window line. | |

| Does it read 2.4 ohms with a meter or is that calculated nominal ohms. Can mount to seatback? Im running 4 wal-mart deep cycles group 31 size. Feeds 5700 watts pretty well. Burps and streetbeats within 2 tenths of a db. | |

| thats with a meter. i think i got it figured out how 2 get in 2 stock or super stock because of my brace off the side of the box that i had 2 cut the plastic 2 run my brace threw it. build a amp/ battery rack on my backseat floorboard n run a 4 cell(450 RA) cat battery. behind the b piller n below the window line. what do u guys think of that? ps.... the owner of my local shop gave me the idea. thanx again. | |

| Actual ohms (read with meter) is not how ohm load is determined. Actual varies with power level, frequency, temps, all manner of variables. Amps are rated by nominal ohm load. With two subs, two coils, and two ohms. Coils and subs wired in paralell should give you a .5 ohm nominal load. My system is at .5 ohm nominal but with box rise and the other variables operating ohms is 3.76. Not sure what your amp is rated to. It should be ok with that load. As for sound deadening, hit up lowes for some peel and seal. Works like a champ for 16 bucks a roll tough to beat it. | |
