| Let me start off by saying that I work at a golf cart place so this is how this really came about. I'm working on a friend of mines car that is down on Batteries (not enough). I took 6 8 volt golf cart batteries and ran them series/parallel to make a 16v bank. I added these to his current batts. The car picked 1.2 db. Not bad. My question is this. Would 6 16v powermasters be better than the 6 8 volt powertrons that I used? Thanks
I can't post a link for the specs on the powertrons due to having this new screen name. sorry. | |

| no because the 8v batts have alot more amperage meaning he has more power capabilities this is why 8v batts are the optimal choice but most people dont have the room to run them like the smaller 16v batts o we choose the 16v batts more of the time
when the batt limits came pout i told everyone this, and some listend most didnt
i also said this is when the expensive maxwell type capacitors would take over, and well they have
here is another way to see it
power master 16v batt has roughly 1500 amps*6=9000 amps
8v batts are usually packed with amperage lets say 4000*6=24000
i hope this helps you out

| Cool. I can actually get some that are a lil better for not much more money. They are 190AH. They are a lil taller in dimesion. | |

| The thing you have to remember with series wiring 8v batts is that the amperage does not double like it does in parallel wiring 2 16v batts.
For instance if each 8v batt has 2000 amps, 2 of them wired in series still only has 2000 amps total.
Whereas if you have 2 16v batts that are 1500 amps a piece, 2 of them wired in parallel gives you 3000 amps.
Series wiring=voltage doubles, amperage stays the same Parallel wiring=voltage stays the same, amperage doubles
Really it depends on the batts you are comparing. Another good (and old) option is wiring up big ass hawker 2v or 4v cells in with 12v batteries.
If you can fit (and afford) enough 8v batts it is the way to go. However, most just end up using 16v batts as they are easier to come by, usually maintenance free, and lighter. |

| correct and coudnt agree more tommy the batts being compared are really where the differance is as we all know not all batts are close to one another | |
