Had a friend stop by yesterday, has a set of veritose horns, wanting me to help install them.
I have no experience with horns at all, is there any tricks to these?
The ones that I have seen in the past are mounted under the dash. Not even sure on the angle to mount them.
Anyone run horns and have any luck using them?
Thanks
Dan

Not a fan. But to answer your question, the horns in most cases need to be parallel to the floor...in other words, firing straight at bottom of the seat. If your lap had ears, it would get them blown out. Lol....but this should work properly at that angle. If you point them up toward your face you will probably start to localize them. This is how it went with testing in the Buick back in 07.

My first impression was that these did not have the best sound, and brought the sound staging down.
I'm taking it, that they don't work the best.
I'll put them in for him if he wants, but he is looking to improve his rides sound, and I just didn't think that these would do it.
Thanks for the help John

lower stage is very possible, even with horns set up right. a lot of guys use a pair of upstage tweeters in the pillar. You midbass of choice will be best in the kick with the horns...and need to play to 500hz possibly.

so the best start would be midbass up to 500, horns from 500 to @8K, tweeters from 8 and up.
He is wanting to give them a shot, so we'll see what we can do.
