| orders can and will be taken at SEMA, from all dealers, so if they order at the show, one can be shipped to their store same day. Which is weeks before finals. |

It is stuff like that, that would make the independent competior just say f it and will lead to the end of this sport.

Because if you can only get ahold of them if you are on a certain team that there is no way a independent competitor could get a hold of them.

This is funny, as this is how the world works for EVERYTHING. Car companies, software companies, etc.... They have to have a "testing market" to validate the major bugs are out before it can be put into full production to be sold to everyone. Like with these amps they are going to be made available to the general public after SEMA, but other people might have had them(prototype models) to make sure they do work in "real scenarios/installs" instead of factor testing.

Agreed but these people have a affiliation with the industry and should be in pro stock. And i'm not just talking about this 10 k amp. This amp makes no diff to me. I'm talking about geoff's question of what if the amp has been aviliable only to "team" members and they are the only ones that know about it.

| like jmorri said, they are testing the amps, as well as others. team members just get inside info before the industry. I bet it's no different with any other team, affliated with other manufactures.
and Team members, will get some first dibs on them.. |

I'm talking about geoff's question of what if the amp has been aviliable only to "team" members and they are the only ones that know about it. team Kicker has about 30+ members on it's team, from MECA, dbDrag , USACi and IASCA. These are guys we choose to support at events. But Kicker has been known to help out even non-affliated consumers/teams at finals when they need gear replacement. How would all those differ? Are they now affiliated? In all honesty, we have never been a manufacture to say "you must place in top X or you loose any advanced techincal support, support at shows, etc" The sport is for them, not us. We don't get huge money in return for prizes or support, we are actually out money doing it. Is it advertisement, sure, but how many people actually go to events to seek a new line of speakers in their car, as spectators? Very slim. Anyone that knows me, when they win, I always say excellnt job to you. And we try to show their name on our website for recognition for their hard work, money that have spent, time away from their family members, countless hours in the garage testing, testing, testing. They did the hard work, all we do is offer extra services to them when they need it. But then again, we've been known, to do it to people that were not a part of the team. Win, loose or draw, I will always be happy for them. Erik H, Kevin E, Richard, Bruce, James H, Jeff and Meghan, Greg M, Jeff S, scionsoloxb(Ryan), and I know i am forgetting more, always go the extra mile, countless times. Without loyalty on these guys parts, there would not be a sport, and or manufacture support.

| I get your point. And I respect all the people you mentioned. Here is my problem. We all talk about a level playing field. As far has amp ratings are concerned and there was a cutoff date for protest amps. So IMO if a amp was not out a commercial available to be protested it should have to be in the unlimited power class. If a normal everyday consumer could not purchase that amp by the cutoff date then it should not be allowed any where buy unlimited power class IMO. I'm not talking about the 10k BTW. Hell the rating on that thing will put it in unlimited on its own.
On another note the about there not being a sport with out those people. Even with those people if the sport is going to grow there has to be some sorta level playing field for a new comer. This is what I'm saying. You have a new comer that has worked all year to get there points they show up to finals to see a new amp that came out 3 weeks before finals that they could not get there hands on and get there Gluteus Maximus spanked. How many of those people you think will be back next year? In there minds it would be like f it because no matter what I do a week before finals a amp is going to come out that I can touch and I'm going to get my Gluteus Maximus spanked. Then a year later that amp will get protested and be rerated but not like it matters there will be another one out a week before finals.
I personal don't care. I could not afford the amp even if it was out. I have said my peace on this matter.
