| Could anyone tell me what i need to set the output at this maxx luink for. or what the sweet spot for input voltage on the d9s are... and i have the rcas split at the amps so i guess i would need to take that into account too?? im getting about 3.2 out of the headunit into the maxx link but wondering what to set the output on it.. got 2 sets of strapped d9s... thanks | |

Then when i get up areoung 54V it just shows question marks? and never goes into clipping.. first time using an oscope.. maybe there is something im missing..

| Are you doing music or burps. Go with full gain on burps.and run them dirty! Slight clip for music | |

| Sorry to threadjack, but ...
@ Chris, I know it's dumb, but as a SB guy, I don't know the mechanics of burping. Could you clarify "Go with full gain for burps"?
Best guess: Crank the gain on the amp to MAX. Set the HU to send a strong, but unclipped signal (~3/4 volume). Roll in with the bass knob. Roll out, just after the dB number levels off.
Is that what you do? I assume you use test runs to learn you how well the amp handles clipping and heat.

| Dirty all the way! Gain cranked loud on bass boost on Sub control up Roll the volume slow but not so slow you loose all your voltage. | |

| Hot coils have a very distinct smell. Burp the Dung Pile out of them but be careful when playing music, if you smell the coils turn it down so they can cool. | |

I wouldnt be worried about the smell on the new ones. The coatings on some coils like to make smelly's

| i wish it was i would know the problem.. i have went through my wiring twice while talking to alan hall on the phone.. i checked it ten times before firing up.. thier site says they are good for 15k on burps im pushing 1/5 of that and even set the amps on the conservative clean side... just makes no sense.. i called them waiting on them to call back... even during burping i felt them a couple times and were barely warm... | |
