| What's the application? In-car, marine, indoor PA, or outdoor-PA.
At their heart, compression drivers are best suited for directional, open-air or large venue reproduction that require high power handling and efficiency. Their frequency content can be tuned flat, but delicate SQ feel gets lost pretty quickly as the power stacks up.
I've seen a few in-car and marine uses, but the system is used as a mobile PA system. If you want directionality, efficiency, and power handling at a relatively low cost, they'll work. Just be prepared to tweak the EQ and crossover to get good blend with a dedicated midrange. | |
