| In the class criteria it says "One processor may be mounted in or below the dash must be securely mounted and designed for that location (1/2 DIN)". I would say the MS-8 would probably not be allowed, but that is what I get from reading that. Look into the Pioneer DEX-P99RS, that would probably the best for this application assuming the way I read this particular rule is correct. | |

| An Eclipse CD8053 would work, not many around but also can be used active. Hell even the Alpine 9887 or P800PRS (can be bought used on forums) can do 2 way active front with a sub. If you plan to do 3 way you can even do that as long as the midrange and tweeter are ran quasi active. There are other options out there. The P99 is one of the best options. Im sure you could probably find a used one of you searched hard enough. | |

| Any 1-din unit that can handle 4way processing would work
Look into the DRZ9255 from Clarion check out the CD7200MKII from Eclipse (3way active)
even DD has a 4 way crossover that is 1/2 din size if you are interested.

| I beleive that only the control piece has to be mounted in the dash. An outboard brain can be mounted anywhere so long as it is designed for 12 volt use. No Pro Audio processing. I'll check with the powers that be in this case.
If so any of the Alpine, Pioneer, Audison, JBL, Rockford pieces should work.

| Clarification! The EQ DOES need to be fully mounted in or below the dash and of the HALF-DIN variety. The idea is that any 12 volt piece offering EQ+ TA, phase, level control, etc should land in atleast the modified class. Intro is meant for the newbs that have basically no experience in sound competition. | |

| And Lumel...You are a veteran of sorts. You get no respect showing up in less than modified IMO. Run what ever processor you like and play in the appropiate division. | |

| Thanks for saying Im stronger but really have zero clue on SQ. I am planing on having the car built by a pro as I am no longer afiliated with the 12volt industry. SPL is a differnt story. | |
