| Yesterday, someone had a show in San Antonio at a local shop. Not USAC, someone used a USB radio downloaded disc. The person beat another with it, is it CHEATING. Would it be legal in USAC, i know i just use cd. Can we ask ralph. | |

| i dont see it as cheating unless the music has been altered in some kind i use my usb for all my streetbeat runs and im pretty sure u can use it for all classes. and what do you mean usb radio downloaded disc? i have a usb 2gb zip drive i use to store my music rather then cd's it is the same thing just a storage device for media anything you can put on a usb zip drive you can put on a cd but you can fit a ton more media on a zip drive then on a cd. just because the source of the media is usb instead of cd doesnt mean its better. | |

| Its been against the rules in the past, you could not use mp3, flash drive, or anything besides a cd. Actually you can't even use a copied cd unless rules have changed. I was out for a yr so nut sure. | |

| i was told you can use whatever because more then likely you arent gonna get a higher number with any of your music then you would with the usaci bass cd except for streetbeat where you can use whatever media u want as long as its commercially available. idk how it would be at finals but i know around here they let us use whatever we want but i still use the usaci cd for my tones for burps but i use my usb for my streetbeat songs its just alot easier! | |

| if it ain't USACi the person can make any rule he wants, the bald guy has no say AT ALL. It was a local show and no where at the show did it say or imply it was a USACi show, if you wanted to use a record player you could have. Simple enough. If the guy throwing the show wanted to put the mic on the roof of the car he could. It was his show not a usaci show. EVERYTHING THE PERSON RUNNING THE SHOW SAYS IS LEGAL IS LEGAL. There was only one competitor that is a usaci member that competed at the show and everyone new the rules, and the member didn't care because it was local and not for points. It only went off your amp wattage.
The person who complained isn't even a member of USACi, so who cares. Unless it says in the rules you can use USB, then you can't. You can only use a CD in an Official USACi show. I can record 2 songs together, one being a 75hz tone and then something stupid like my chick bad, If you hear my chick bad when I am street beating then you would never know I had a secrete tone in the back ground. Thats why it has to be an original CD commercially available to the public. USB and MP3 players = cheat (in USACi) Not directly at you two asking, but its way to simple to enhance the bass of a song and download it to a cd/usb/mp3, thats why Street beat has to use an original cd. Burps don't really matter because you can enhance the bass on a 65 hz tone, but its still a 65, on street beat you can add what ever frequency to any song and make it a song with tones in the back ground, no one will ever notice especially if you still have words coming out.

| People get away with it in USACi and in non-affiliated competitions... but to clarify:
USB or MP3CD or iPod or CD-R... are all illegal in USACi
Conceptually, I think they should all be legal, but there's no way to ensure ethical behavior.
DaddyJ said it best, anybody can use Audacity to set a high-pass filter on Lil Jon "Push That" ... lower the track gain... and layer the vocals on a test tone of your choice frequency. Maybe insert a couple breaks to make it sound legit.
The same way that Decaf can build some killer bass tracks without dramatically changing the sound... so can anyone else.
We will have a StreetBeat CD soon, so the whole discussion will be moot soon.

| We have used a usb drive for shows last year. Not at any Usaci shows because it is not allowed, but in the other org we run it is legal. We only do it because our deck skips when it does a streetbeat run or burps locked in place, or is low on gas, or whatever. I dont see any problem with it personally but as with anything else it will cause problems when someone gets caught cheating with it. | |

| in my region, the head judge has a mp3 player with usaci tracks on it for those who choose to use mp3. check with your judge to see if he/she have that option. i use mp3 because it do not skip. | |

| Ok, dont care what happens at non usac shows. My point is was is it legal in USAC. I dont agree with it, it shouldnt be used. Because of fact you can dub over trks its not fair. I just wanted to get my question answer. I know ralph has no say so in non usac event, that wasnt my point. I think the CD should only be used. My opinion. See Ya. | |

| have a podium or a better head unit. if USACi allows it, then you should only be able to use theirs. I have a head unit that has a fold down face and behind the screen it has a memory card spot and a slot for cd/dvd. Anything other than Original CD should not be used, and if asked to see the disk it should be original or immediate ban or disqualification at ALL USACi shows. No questions asked. | |

| Im pretty sure they were looking into it... The sad thing is someone or a few would do the dub thing and thats sad we cant all trust one another not to do it..... Crazy Crazy.. Like i said if they find a way to make it work that would be awsome cause not everyone wants to have a cord hanging out of there chit and on a podium just trying to compete in usaci | |
