grounds man are you grounding the batts to the frame if not and using just the grounds off the batts they will do this.

.5 is good for these amps in fact .33 is also untill they rattle loose inside lol.

24 batts are plenty for these as well.i was having issue on 10 batts with my 1 200.1 2 weeks ago and grounding was the issue.

So you are saying to ground the 16 volt battery to the chassy of the van(which is 12 volt)? I thought the amp is isolated and seeing the 16 volt.

I have the same issue with my amp. The amp ground is direct to my batt. It is isolated from the vehicle.

Never thought I had to do that, since the batt is 16 volts and the vehicle is 12 volts. the amp is on 16 volts.

As stated above, common ground is ok, just the positives are different. Wink I grounded my front and back battery to frame, or body (unibody bah) and ground to amp. Never had an issue, but then again it was 12volts at both ends. Still it shouldn't cause an issue as stated.

like i stated a ground is a ground, if your feeding (for lack of a better term) voltage from your ground then you have a problem

Why does the amp need a body ground? it is isolated from every other electronic components from the vehicle. The amp is already grounded at the battery. I ran the pd2000 as well as other amps that way with no problem. The AB200.1 is the only amp with this problem.

Some benifit from it, some don't. If your haveing problems with the amp then it may be worth a try. I have always grounded to frame with my amp till I got the last one. I grounded it to frame and battery. It didn't hurt and actually it seemed to help in my application. Thats all I am trying to get at. Wink
