| Wondering what everyone thinks are the best subs. Have about 12 cubic feet of box area. Thinking of either 15's or 18's. This would be for mod class. | |

| Incriminator Audio Warden's and Digital Designs Z's will have the strongest motor force for your power range... but Atomic APXX and RD SHW have excellent power handling and efficiency for their price.
To a fair extent, Audioque HDC3, Cascade Omega, DD 9500, and Sundown Nightshade or Z ... are solid SPL subs that will hold up to the power for a short amount of time.
You want to cram alot of power in, but getting loud is all about the box. A good SPL box uses the full excursion of the subs, by providing JUST enough air stiffness to prevent bottoming, for the given power.
With 10kW, you'll want a good platform, and any of the above should do well. Plan on using a few recones when you test at full power, though. | |

| DD Z's, right now I'm putting close to 7500 to each sub and they handle the power real nice, but the price is up there | |

| From looks alone, it uses: - TC Sounds basket = good for long excursion and linearity, but tougher to find spiders/recones (excellent) - 4" voice coil = usually less sensitive, but better power handling (good for 2000wRMS or more) - big double-stack motor = plenty of motor force (OK) - high roll surround = longer excursion, but less linearity (bad) - kevlar cone = light and stiff moving assembly (good) Powerbass 4XL TC LMS Ultra 5400 I'd give it an A- on the basic specs... do you have T/S parameters? That will tell more. | |

| Box is 11.5-12 cubic feet net, tuning will be upper 60's to lower 70's hz range. Have over 500 cubic inches of port area if needed. Looking at 2 18's or 4 15's. This will be in a 2000 Dodge Dakota ext cab. Will be 10,000-20,000 watts total power. Dakota has a wall also. This will be for mainly competition.

| 4 Atomic APX 15's. I got 4 tens I am selling for $250 each plus shipping. If you want I could take them apart and ship just the motors for $250 each and I'll pay for shipping. I paid $90 plus shipping on my 10" recones, so I'm guessing recones for 15's would be around $110. 15" baskets would prolly be around $30 each. If you do it this way, you can have 4 15's for less than the price of 2. Just a suggestion. Another option is AQ. | |
