| The only difference is cosmetic the back plate is different. As far as why people use rd instead of atomic not sure I'm running atomic next year. | |

| In most testing I noticed the RDs were louder, not by a whole hell of alot but a few tenths is win or lose as we all know. I tried the Ap/Spl against the alpha and the elite spl and the alpha was a few tenths louder, the elite spl was 1.2 louder same box same power obviously (all I did was drop different woofers in. The tried the apx against the heavyweight and the heavyweight was 0.2 louder, I honestly didnt notice much i sound, power handling, or anything else, I think the only reason people were going with RD is because they were getting a better deal from Steve then they were from George thats why I ran rd. | |

| I run RD cause i like the customer service... And the other is ive always fkn hated George he is a bidness man about like Steve if you ask me.. I know it comes from George but im not buying it from George nor ever have to deal with george so in my mind im paying RD not George hey it works for me guys.. And Joel has done nothing but be a stand up guy with me so i run his product... Did i mention i hated that chinese fizzzzzzzzzzzcuker | |

| Both companies are built by sja which is george/atomics build house. (Who also builds woofers for american bass and a few others) as far as the woofers appearence rd,s have backplate that is beveled differently. They use the same softparts...but I'm unsure if the coils are the same measurements. The difference could be in the internal measurements of the motors. Like the gap and pole piece. I've always used rd...since before a lot of you were born lol. Joel is a stand up guy and I've never talked with george. I hear mixed opinions about him. But both atomic and rd. Woofers...well sja woofers in general have a pretty high build qulity to them | |

What was the gain from the heavyweight and the alpha in your test?

| I never really tested the alpha against the heavy weight, because honestly I didnt see the point the elite spl woofer was louder then the alpha so I went with them. The heavy weight 12 vs the Elite SPL 12 was just about dead nuts on in my 12in test box with the same power, but the heavy weight took alot more power, got louder using more then 3k watts, and took more damage if you will then the elite spl I locked the elite spl up several times, never locked the heavy weight or the super heavy weight up. | |

Yes you can. They are exactly the same. They both come from atomic. I even had Atomic send me an RD dustcap back when I was still representing them as RD's. The last recones I ordered, I had them send atomic dust caps.
