| Hi all,
Noise has always been an issue. So it's something the sq judges have to work with. All we can do is tune our vehicles and hope for the best.
My main issue is the lack of spectators. Look guys manufacturers won't buy booth space with no foot traffic. You can have 200 sq cars there, and without foot traffic there won't be any manufacturer support.
Sheveport is big enough for what sq and spl has right now. I didn't see any problems with having enough space for either. Having the hotel next to the center and the shoping, entertainment complex accross the river made it an enjoyable experence. Hell in 1996 at Kansas City my almost midnight dinner was Hostess Cupcakes out of a hotel vending machine.
No venue will be perfect, it is what it is. All we can hope for is a good time, being with good friends for a weekend and making new friends also.

| It has gotten 20 times better a lot to do downtown now. Plenty of entertainment and eating. Plus could give me an excuse to visit friends and family. | |

| Also one of the reasons to move it earlier than Nov is weather. End of Nov, or any time in Nov. Snow can fall.I have heard of compeditors from CO going home from KC in a blizzard.

- There is other places in Shreveport, down the road, that has bigger facilities. I don't want to get into those facilities until we are SURE we can fill up what we have. Cars were spread out at Finals this year, we had alot more parking if needed. If we had more SQ cars I could of also had the Hall sectioned off for SQ but seeing there was only 4 rows it didn't go to the sectionable (is that a word ? LOL) part. Just an idea!
This is where we needed to be (in the Hall area) ... just my suggestion ... Shreveport was GREAT !!! Works for me !!! I agree with no other event should be scheduled the same weekend ... again, just my suggestion ... | |

| YES World Finals is Sept 24 & 25, 2011 at the Shreveport Convention Center. Ralph has the contracts in hand and I am meeting with the hotel (Hilton) Monday for our group stuff. Hope this clears everything up for ya. See ya in the lanes this year |

| I will say this! I don’t care where it is or what time it is! If the bass floor is like it was at finals in 2010 it will suck! You sit in a recording studio and listen and it sounds great; you put 8 – 15s in the same studio and it sounds like ass! I heard multiple cars in 2010 and most sounded great. When the bass floor kicked in they all changed for the worse. I spent some time tuning the car in a quiet environment; when I listened to the car with all the bass it was a suck ass car! I know of a guy from New York that had something going on and the bass just killed it! I felt like us SQ guys got no respect per the spl for what we all do! We pay to compete so the least you could do is show some respect and let us compete without the odds stacked against us. If everyone had the bass going when judged it would not be a problem. But some were judged with no bass and the majority was judged with! May I recommend that SQ judging next year be judged in a location that has no bass or schedule a time early or late so everyone is equal! | |

| Yup...I wasn't there but I heard it was loud. I would think Tim's idea of judge SQ early and late is the answer. Or, we go back to pulling through a lane that goes to a quieter area for sound. Install could be done right before just like back in the day....but the install area could still be inside or where ever further up the line. IF we went with the early/late option with in place judging, IMO...we should have SQ meeting Friday night and Judging starts at 7am Saturday. one area of concern would be keeping the hall open Friday night and open early Saturday. I've judged and help coordinate with TIm so I know that topic may be easier said than done. The booths would need to crank up and test before the doors opened...Ralph would have to declare a quiet floor until 30min prior to door opening. I just don't think "we" make enough money to dictate the show schedule, thus, why I brought up lanes. Weather would have an impact, yes. But, only if the lanes have to run outside...and from what I heard, that may be the only quiet area. I know I will pitch in and do whatever to help. Even if it means help judge sound in classes I'm not in. | |

| For this year, I think the best bet would be to judge sound early, in place. Realistically, probably looking at 50 sq cars, give or take this year. If there are 2 judging crews working, looking at 4-5 hrs total for all cars.(@10min/car) could get 3 hrs saturday, and the rest on sunday | |
