Even if it's the Thursday before Finals...that is all.

One of my main questions ... Is why is there still a Judge or two that actually thinks Sub bass from the rear is good? It blows my freaking mind .... I have even heard one say and i qoute " Ive never been to a rock concert and didn't hear alot of bass" Can you believe this? First off a ROCK CONCERT... LOL that makes me almost cry.. Second wouldn't that be the furthest from what we as judges look for.. I dont think i have ever heard a ROCK song on the cd's. Anyway ive never been to an Jazz or Classical concert and heard bass all over the place... Maybe im smoking too much not sure.... Please inlighten me. Cause im loosing faith in this INDUSTRY.... Especially if ive been listening and judging vehicles wrong... I give up.

I agree John but I have no clue when/if we can pull it off. Maybe new venue will = new procedures. I'm sure this year we'll probably be going up a little early so the possibility is there....

I'm all for the training. Always try to learn something new in this game. Shane...sign me up for training. You need me, you know where I am.

I just think it would be good for judges plus experienced competitors to learn what is being looked/listened for.

I agree 100% ... Like i said before i wont name names but they are out there that believe ALOT OF BASS REAR OR FRONT IS OKAY. This would help because i know ive judged a few guys that had their rides way too heavy on the bass and when i said they had to much they told me..." Hey last weekend in blah blah the guy told me . " "Dude you got all those subs in there and there not on" LOL ohhhhhhhhhhhhhh my.

I agree, I would love to attend It would be nice to bring the SQ training back for sure! We need consistency among all of the judges so that competitors know what to do. If I can help in any way to pull this off let me know.

Jimbo - the only thing I can say is that some people like more bass.

Hell, at Trifecta in San Antonio, we had the Trifecta judge tell us he wanted a little more low-end sub-bass...

I've had other judges tell me the low-end sub bass in the car is absolutely incredible.

Who knows...one show doesn't make or break you, it's if you can do it over and over and over again that matters....consistency is the key!

You also have to remember that the noise floor has something to do with your midbass and sub-bass levels as well. That's the thing about SQ...there's a lot of opinion on the listening side...training will help narrow down the amount of opinion though. But it is there none the less..

Usaci is sending a Judge to train the guys in Thailand later this month, so why not train us. I would definately go to training for this. I wouldn't mind a quick spl training too, just so everyone is on the same page as far as judging goes.

I iwll get with my trainers and see if we can put together a couple of training classes.

One in the Joplin or KC area for sure and perhaps one in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Shreveport may be a good location as well if we can get 12-volt news to host it....

I'd go to some training if it was up here in KC or down in Joplin. Be a nice distraction from real life.

Im trained but i can name ALOT that have never been ... Or even funnier ones that never even competed SQ but are now somehow qaulified to Judge and Evaluate a car!!!!!!!!!!!!


I mean come on being able to read helps but to grab a scoresheet and jump in a car and go down the list... NO that is not how it should be done guys.. And ive seen it toooooo many times, If you ask me that is shortchanging compeditors that travled to a show to learn something.

Then what qaulifies them to give advise on how to make the system better.... Say that compeditor is told bye a pretend judge to change this and that and this and that... Then he goes to a show and a true qaulified judge is there and NAILS him on all that this and that crap.... And that judge says hey there is no reason for you to have to have that... As a judge i fear this at every show i judge. Then i have to smooth things over.. Or hell i just tell them the truth and say well sorry but that guy knows SPL not SQ sorry and fix it if you want to do well.... I mean what else can you say...

In my eyes yes it fixes things at the time but the later consiquences are the ones that effect that compeditor... Just my 2 cents... So train all of them... Hell ill even ask to see the Judges badge to make sure they are somewhat legit and you would be suprised at how many go... Hmmmmmmm i never got one... Well it wasn't cause they took the test and it just hasn't showed up yet... But simply they never took the test and was asked bye another to help out .. Cause hell its not that hard ... YEAHHHHHHHHHHHHH RIGHT... To do it right it surely is tough.

I drove 4 hours to a show just to have an unqualified judge listen to the truck. This judge told me that they thought the sound should have been coming form the center console between the front seats. " All of the sound is up front instead of the center of the vehicle" they said. This persons advise besides the sound, was to put some flashy led lights around my HU for extra points on installation.LOL

I know that it's hard to have a "great" judge at every show but I think we all deserve atleast a judge that has half a clue.

I'd love to go to the judges training!
