Finals competitors

Been reading the issues on this for a while. Lot of talk about killing sq, the issues with sq, ect.
I have been at finals and have been for 11 years, in both spl and sq.
I have not been to nearly as many shows the last few years, based on my personal family situation. I'm sure that others are in the same boat. I started in competitions before kids, mortgages, ect. These take time out of being able to compete. I get to the shows I can. Some are more organized than others. one thing that has hurt this in my area, is that it is just not offered. Most shows 8-10 years ago brought a minimum of 25 sq guys out. Now, there is one show withing 100 miles. The rest are at or over 6hrs away.

Not going to get a newbie in my area to drive 6hrs to a show that he knows little about.
Just my opinion.

Also, as far as ending sq, that would be a shame. I will be in sq as long as it is here. I hear a lot of talk of people saying they are going to finals, but sometimes that can be misleading.
There is power in numbers. just wondering who is going for sure. Please see other post.
