SB4 Explorer Sub swap

Well I will have to say that so far I am impressed with the new Crossfire XS subs. Just had a set dropped off yesterday for me to swap out the Digital Designs 9515's. With no testing just direct swap gained 1.3 Db over our previous best score of 157.1. Hopefully with a little more testing and tuning I can get the score close to a 159-160. These subs are pretty beefy compared to the DD's. I will try and get some pics up hopefully today of the motors.

Thery are still being OEMed by Fi right?

Nice jump in score good to see people go with other brands... To me the DD subs are alil overated but they are still good subs

Nice gain....were the xs woofer built specifically for your vehicle or just stock woofers like the 9500s???

Also did you check output power on a burp.....Im interested in these results.

Yes just stock dual 2's just like the dd. Have not clamped the amps yet. But the crossfire has a 4" coil. Where the dd is a 3". And as far as I know crossfire and FI hold the patent on the basket and motor stucture. However crossfire is going to be able to build them with custom coil configurations as well.

Thats a nice gain man.....them some loud woofers lol...looks like a strong motor with no rear vent....I wonder if DD would ever build a sub with no rear vent. Only reason I asked about power is because 9500s have a big imp rise usually.

Well a little more screwing around today at a local show burped 159.2@44Hz on volume 20 with sub at 0. Ran a 156.5 @ volume 20 sub @0 on young jeezy airforces. Then sat and demoed it for another 30-45 minutes and the subs barely warmed up. So I would have to say these might just stay in the explorer. Have another set of subs to try when they get here. Then I will decide which set stays in the explorer. So there might be some dd subs for sale soon.

So in other words volume 20 isnt all it has because I thought you said somehwere it would burp 160s and street beat over a 158 with the dd's with 2 sundown 3000 LOL and yeah a 8 layer 4 inch coil shouldnt heat up with 4 of them on 2 3000d's

Lets see what it has in it at a show....on the 27th imma let mine go for all it has....I don't hold back ever.

Yes no one wanted to enter his class. The loudest burp score at that show was 155.7 on 4 RD Sonance 15's on 2 RD3250's. Then a 155.4 on 3 audioque hd3 15's on a powerbass 5k.

you eber heard of a line drive you see i had those amps and they suck at 3v of inout they wanted 12v and man did they fornicating come alive

my sound streams like 7.2v its .3dbs louder then 7.1v weird

its not weird its called getting around the ratings system

just like them gp's they are louder on linedrivers from what i heard but it will be tested real soon for streetbeat 2
