| well i am with matt on this guys if we don't get more competitors for this sport it will die out trust me on that. the shows are showing it, like i said with the last tupelo show it was a dp show and we only had like 7 to 8 competitors. now that show use to pull in some guys from down south and some guys from up above to the east of us. hell we even had mr. shaffer, well one of them, show up last year lol but usaci needs a trunk class plus it may give me a fighting chance lol | |

And that's why we will always have problems getting new blood into this sport. Anytime there is a class for beginners the experienced guys have to come in and dominate the class chasing the new guys the class was made for away from usaci. Just like street beat turned out.

And that's why we will always have problems getting new blood into this sport. Anytime there is a class for beginners the experienced guys have to come in and dominate the class chasing the new guys the class was made for away from usaci. Just like street beat turned out. ohh i didnt know this trunk class everyone wants is going to be for "beginners", no where in the description "trunk class" did i see the words, "for begginers only", yeah a trunk classs would be nice, but guess what, beginners arent going to win, the only way beginners will win is if we have a class that everyone gets a 1st place trophy no matter what. i keep heAring this lets have a crx only class to give the rest a chance to win, guess what, the rest still wont win, then it will be lets have a s-10 only class so the rest can win, guess what the rest wont win, then it'll be lets have an itegra or explorer only class so the rest can win, guess what, the rest still wont win. you wanna know why, look at the people who win, what do they do, they work on there cars 6 days a week and compete on the 7th, they spend thousands and thousands of dollars on top notch equipment, there are hundreds of brands of car audio out there, but you only see a few diff brands in world championship vehicles, why, because it works best for what we do, so just by saying you cant run a crx or an s-10 or this or that in stock will not make this any easier for a beginer with a alpine amp and 2 12" in a prefab box in his trunk, it'll still be the ones who take the time to build the car and spend the $$$$. flame away i know you guys wont like this the truth hurts, but think about it, we have a trunk class, which yes i want to, but then next year you'll have kids with trunk cars still complaining because they got beat by someone who took 4 months to build and tune there car and spent thousands of dollars on the best equipment for the application. |

| I'm not saying it would be a beginner class. It would give the guy without a rex to at least stand a chance. The comment of taking a rex and trying to make it fit a trunk class is what I was comenting on. It's Dung Pile like that, that is chasing new guys away from the sport. Anytime there is something semi geared for the average joe dominate compeitors find a way to make it just as hard for the new guy to get his foot in the door. I'm not trying to go after you chad, I just think new guys need somewhere to get their feet wet. Yes we all spend a lot of time to get where we are. Should new guys have to....yes. But attendence is down everywhere. So say 1 in ten new people who try usaci currently as first timers stay and work to get loud. That was great in the 90's when say 50 new people tried usaci each week. Now say 10 new peolpe try a week and still only 1 stays. We are loosing competitors who have been in it for years and have moved on. We have less new guys each year. Sooner or later there will be no one left unless we find a way to get new people into this sport again. 159+ db in the lowest class is out of hand. | |

| yeah i here that, but i dont think anyone would actually do that to a crx, cause as a trunk car, well it probably wouldnt work, i'd want a diff trunk car, but anyway, yeah we need some new people to get in this stuff. someone mentioned lowering entry fees, i dunno if thats the solution, entry fees havent really gone up since i started this stuff in 2000, maybe $5 here or there, but not much, yet the price of usaci doing business i'm sure has gone up to get back and forth to shows. i dont know about what they charge a shop to hold an event maybe that has gone up, but for the avg new guy entering a show, it hasnt relly gone up, sure times are probably tougher since everything else in this country has gone up in price, i guess thinking about it, price has little to do with it, i went to a free triple 2 years ago, guess how many people were there, like 8 people and 12 entries, well actually maybe 18 or so entries, but thats because one guy entered like 8 classes. but anyway, i dont know what the answer is to get new people to be honest, you can try this or that, give free stuff away, lower the fee, i dontt know what the answer is for these days, back in the day you said something like bikinni contest and raffle and people were there in the 100's, dont ask me why, but that stuff doesnt seem to work these days, so i dunno how you'll get new people in these days cause it seems young kids just dont have the extra money these days to spend on this stuff |

| I think maybe a combination of a lower fee "local" class to get new guys in. "Local" is up to the head judges decision. We can all walk around a show and know who is a big player, someone who has a good idea of what's going on, and the clueless new guy with two sony subs and a prefab box. Give out smaller trophies, charge less and like 4-5 firsts and then they move up. (Not sure on this though. Depends if they are getting more into it or something. Maybe $10 to $15 entry fee. It would possibly make usaci more money because more people will be in the classes and classes would be closer and rerun $ would go up as the guy with 136.6 tries to change something to catch his buddy at 137.1. You know like it used to be. Yes they will have small scores but they don't care as long as they are close. Our last show we had three locals show up and run super mod because no one was in it and could run against each other. One guy got 140 at some point in the day and was so excited. They might see the bigger trophies that the real classes offer and decide to move up. No points, no finals. | |

| the trunk class will be run by the same people that are kickin butt now .. the people that are tuning and spending money and sacerficing( i dont know how to spell) the lifes to this sport.. i was in the beginer shoes complaining about how im getting beat.. crap im still getting beat but not by so much and not so often.. dont take that as cocky take that as in i work on my car alot and have spent alot of money. the trunk class will appeal more to the average consumer because the average consumer has a family and four doors and a trunk... and the local's fee is alwayz lower 35 normal is 20 for local its not expensive ... for that matter come to one of our shows its completely free except for re runs local pro anything i think the free shows that swat does are helping bring alot of people into the sport and i think seeing trunk cars get nasty loud are bringing them in too ... | |

| To win in any class takes work and lots of testing and effort..............i dont care if its local on up to supermod you have to WORK to WIN.....cant just throw something in and expect to blow by everyone........i busted my arse on my civic when i first started and got it doin 50's on the dash with everything in the trunk......not everyone can be a champion the ones that work the butts off for it are then ones that deserve it.......
as far as gettin more people involved id say make it FUN! thats what this is about is to make it fun.....i have taken a kid under my wing this year and have been teaching him a few things and hes came a LONG way......what 142's to damn near 150's(man is he itchin to see that number pop up LOL) and all it took him was alil bit of time and effort....just by being there to help him out and make it fun seems like hes as addicted to this stuff as i am......
