PostSubject: 4 inch precision port cutout   Sun Feb 28, 2010 10:54 am

Anyone know the cutout size for 4" PSP ports? I don't trust myself with a jigsaw and i've been resining my box the past few days and don't want to ruin it so router precision would be best for me.

Yep I know that. I left one side resin free. Don't want an uneven surface to do a routing or I get a funked up looking circle lol. Hopefully this is my magic 150 box

Yes i've talked to thor and visited his buildlog tons of times throughout the past couple years. I've also been wanting the try the firing forward sealed off design. He had my subs at one point and time but his had like 8 spiders.

i think with the flare on mine it was about 6'in cutout if not you can always get some plumber sealent glue an gorilla tape.
i was 6 db's away from a 50 last year with one 15 an about 2000 watts prolly more like 1500 after rise an such, yesterday i did a 141.5 on a sb run with one 12, one batt, an a aq1200.1 in a 3cube box. not bad really for a box that wasn't tested in my car an not knowing what song it likes. gonna be in the shop in the next few months.

6 1/2" speaker template with a nice round over works perfect for 4" pnr port cut out. I've also had good luck in trunks with subs up ports back, basically 1/2 of a crx box, keep the box as low as possible. I've also heard good things about port and subs up all the way at the back of the trunk.

i knew it was 6 something cause i used a boot from a alpine type s,
still i th ink my 141 was a good number considering it was sub an port back an the box was built for 2 12's, an one speaker cut out was covered lol i think sub back an port to the side is louder in my car though.

Got one of those for my plunge router. I found out today when building my box that my 4 spoke baskets have different cutouts one is 9 1/4 and the other is 9 5/16
