So who all is gonna run Mod 4k and SB 5 this year?

Correct, entire floor was cut out and dropped 18" if I remember correctly, even has a special drivetrain since the driveshaft was in the way they dropped and have a chain and sprocket off the transmission. Pretty good bit of badass engineering involved in that van.

You live here in Fort Worth? Sweet. I think Jenissa is doing a couple of show up here. Hope to see you at a few. Padre, well I have been making plans to attend but work has got me on the road alot this year. I hope to make it, should be fun if I can. If not, like I said USACI will be hosting a few events in this area.

I wouldn't say there is not much comp around here. There are more then a few 160's floating around these parts. I know of a group just up the road from you in a town called Waco who are in the 165ish....so comp, you will get.

The Rileys did a badass job on that drivetrain. Only problem was they didn't brace the sprocket coming off of the front of the driveshaft so when you shifted and gave it any gas it would bend down and the chain would bind and pop off. I was under that thing for an hour welding gussets from the Steel on the bottom of the enclosure to the sprocket braces to keep it from moving. Ever since then there hasn't been a single issue with the chain coming off

Its also pretty cool the way they poured 2 2'' pvc pipes into the concrete for the enclosure to run the wires through.

When we tore the 4 15 baffle out when Steve first got it the wires were ran inside the baffle...there were no wires in the box at all lol

The Rileys were some of the best builders SPL has ever seen...I wish they'd come back and do something

yes that is was and probably always will be the best spl vehicle ive ever seen. between the rileys and cook, that van is bad ass! unfortunately, not legal in usac(shouldnt be in any other org. either imho). but the build and fabrication involved in that vehicle is AMAZING!

Oh yeah justin, there will be some competition for you in mod 4k. ive always like beating you some come on over.

Rowlands, I wanna see you put some real power to them subs this year. I know it's your demo vehicle. It would be sweet to see what that thing could do "All out". P.S. not even joking, I had a dream last night and your van was in it, but you weren't. sorry.

i know they will handle another 12k and not even get warm ///thats the plan for this year 12k more during the year then 24k more for finals only..
