Ok dear people. We trying to decide which headunit to go with. Of course were doing a SQ vehicle so thats my main focus. Which one would you guys go with.

What's a w505/p1?

Alpine is releasing the new INA-W900 soon. 7" double din with built in nav. And A W900BT with built in nav and bluetooth.

I'm an Alpine fan. As if you couldn't tell.

Pioneers new stuff looks good for SQ too.

the w505/p1 is really the same as a w505 except it comes with the nav.

I just received info from Alpine that the W900 DOES NOT have an optical out. Depending on your setup the 505 might still be my reccomendation.

As far as Alpine goes. I'd do the 505 with the new M300 nav add on. Rather than the P1 combo nav.

The Kenwood is the way to go. has a ton more features. I have one new in the box if you want to do that. Has 2 seperate remote on buttons so you can control leds or amps if you nav is built in, ipod intigration is just a cable, I steering controls is avalible as well. You can control a center channel with it as well if you choose to add one. Kenwood had the best showing at CES. Very dissappointed in Alpine and Clarion. Pioneers new Deck is nice but not the double din stuff.

if you do go alpine, check into these amps. the mra f350 and the mra d550. both are 5.1 channel w/ optical in and have a real nice processor in them. not super loud, but real good sound.

I would like to keep the use of my fiber optic cable. And Im not sure if the kenwood 9140 has fiber optic output. What I like about the alpine is that it has that fiber optic output. but the kenwood has the 5volt preout puts. Thats great. Still undecided.

The Kenwood does not have optical out. There is supposed to be a way to convert it but not sure. I never understood the focus on having digital just to convert it to analog.

If you go with the Alpine 505, DO NOT get the P/1 "crackturd" nav. Go with the new M300 add on unit. Trust me. I'm an Alpine dealer.

Right now Im learning towards the alpine w505. I need the fiber optic output. Plus I already have the alpine pxa 701 proc. i wouldnt need the proc on the kenwood.

Is the Alpine w 505 the top line of Alpine
