12 or 16 volt ,who started it and why

ok so i have to ask , being in this sport for only five years i have to say why , i under stood the idea of stock vs prostock , one being a pro who gets paid for audio work and or a sponsorship . but why have a 12 volt class 0-600 , and then have a 16 volt class 0-600 if both are not suppose to be at 0-600 , why did we need 16volt , the only thing i can see is the prostock guy is trying to get more than 600 out of the amp , so then he really is not in 0-600 right ?
so the idea of clamping is only to make sure the 600 watt amp is only putting out 600 right ? so maybee that is why the idea of getting rid of prostock is to make room for a new combination class the no wall class . soooo then it should not matter stock, prostock,no wall ,mod , if they are all power classes then why not clamp , why do you need 16 volt , and why not allow 16volt if you are using clamps any way , who cares what your input voltage is if all we are worried about is the clamped power when all is said and done. i agree the attendense is down but is it only a change in car audio in a whole , have any shops that dont do sounoffs closing . are we over reacting , i dont know the answers i just have to sit back and wonder what are we all getting so worked up about , these are all ideas being thrown around to see what would be best for the sport , they maynot even happen , but many are saying ....I QUIT .. now i have to go out and join another org .. now i hAVE TO BUY ALL NEW GEAR ,, JUST WAIT AND SEE , VOICE YOUR OPINION YES ...BUT IF THREATS ARE GOING TO HELP MAKE A RULE CHANGE OR NOT
