| Stock..... Vehicles kept true to the way they were manufactured, or with only slight modifications. Modifications would be limited to only what was necassary to allow the aftermarket equipment to be installed. ie, dash kit for the source unit, spacer rings to allow speakers to fit into doors. etc
Custom..... Vehicles are similar to the stock cars, but customized to match the owner’s taste and vision. Modifications may include exotic materials and highlted interior panels that give a custom or highlighted look.
Modified..... Vehicles that have been rebuilt to increase its potential for sound qaulity. Vehicles where the dash or kick panels or door panels are replaced or reworked for greater performance. Interior panels removed or altered for appearance.
Exotic..... Vehicles that have modifications not seen on a regular basis, and has features that are not common to the auto industry. These modifications would easily seperate them from daily commuters.
Vehicles would fall into one of these categories according to its interior appearance. The vehicles bed or trunk is open to design.
These 4 classes would have trophy placement 1 through 5.
Obviously the intent is for the newbie competitors to be in the stock or custom class.. As the competitor gets more serious, he would most likely have modifications to the vehicle. These modifications would bump him up to the higher class...
Forget about rookie, consumer, pro, expert.... Forget about who built the car or if they got a deal on the gear, or any of that.... Forget about the competitor... Concentrate on what class the car should be in.... The above description was somewhat borrowed from the regular car show type formats... It works, you build your car either for a class, or you build it and get put into a class... Thats all there is to it...

| MECA may be,,, i have not looked at MECA rules in 7 years... but who cares, if it is like meca or iasca or anything else.... the point is we need to get it right.... and if MEca are similiar im sure they were borrowed form some car show type of rules.... thats where i got these... everyone is so worried about who is copying who or some nonsense. we need to all work together.... no offense to meca or steve, but if you think its perfect over there,,, its not.... MECA is gaining ground and as soon as alot of the guys on this USACi discussion board starts to compete in MECA,,, guess what the problems will only get bigger... | |

| I like the classes, I also think we need to give some serious consideration to handicap classes like they have in bowling leagues. Everyone is judged on the same sheet and in one class. Based on the scores they are broken out into handicap classes. The best compete against the best and on down the line. Easy to inplement and REAL EASY to bracket.
anyone? | |

| Modifications will not work. If I hve some homemade door pods made of silly putty and Todd has some serious nice custom pods then we get teh same points?
The do it yourselfers will be in the same class with the 100K install. Same number of mods just top dollar VS no dollars!

| yes, they absolutely can.... quit worrying about the guy that dosent know what the heck he is doing.... and worry about making this whole thing better. better installs mean better shows.... and yes, if i show up with silly putty door panels, and other B.S. that adds up to 10 modifications, and a Crowder built car has 10 modifications, then were in the same class period,,, this will keep the rif raff out of the events, and or make everyone including the do it your selfers do better work,,, but in reality, i have never seen anyone show up with silly putty door pods.. part of the problem is all of the orgs have catered to the do-it -yoursfers of the years recent, trying to make h=things fair and easy for them, while not giving the credit to the guys that do great work, The orgs should be trying to drive business to the retailers,, and making all of these classes do-it-yourselfer friendly does not drive business to the specialty retailer. | |

| 9 classes total... Class Sketoe Class Crowder Class Eldridge
These 3 classes are divided up due to the amount of modifications done to the vehicle.....
Class Sketoe-- is a vehicle that looks stock, no visible modifications Class Crowder -- has modifications that enhace the install and visible changes are apparent. Class Eldridge-- has serious modifications not consistant with the manufactures design, etc...
Then within each class there is a handicap system that divides the competitors, with an intent for all competitors to bump up as they win more events or as there car gets better..... 3 classes within each of the above 3 classes for a total of 9 ,, offer some sort of prize or money only for the top class within the SKETOE< CROWDER< ELDRIDGE class....

| we will probably never see the "hay Day" again, without some serious involvment from more people than the 12 that get on here and fuss,,,, but back in the day.. the orgs didnt cater to all of the do-it-yourselfer- newbie -make -every- thing- as- easy- as- possible competitors... it should be about competition,,, look up that definition everyone.... | |

| You're right...It is all about the competition...
So I think I can dig your 3 MAIN DIVISIONS with maybe each broken down into 3 SUB DIVISIONS. We still need a few (one or two) "Q" only classes I think also. These should be incorporated into same divisions somehow. I do agree this will put like cars i like classes which would be the fairest.
Keep it coming...

| a beginner sb class where you play 30-50hz an the score over that average wins, limited on battery and has to be below the window line, guys that have been to finals for a class cant run this, its to get newbies feet wet and no worry to push them away when a big dog stomps them day in an day out. | |
