| I remember the failed webcam meeting...I was there in the room. In order to feed that much boradband info as in 50-100 people trying to get a word in, you'd have to have a T3 line and you'd still have glitches. | |

| A regional idea is great, but you will not be able to vote on issues. Heck, you won't even know what issues there are to vote on! If there are issues to be voted on, the regional meets COULD vote and those choices carried to the main meet. A whole country still does this when electing a president. The lure of a 4x meet might just do the trick for me though. | |

Will try the webcast thing but no gurantee it will work. If it does work I doubt that anyone on it will be able to do anything other than just watch.
Our hope it that we get a large attendance. | |

| -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The meeting will include rules, shows, policies, and anything that can make USACI better for both the competitors and the retailers.
USACI will take floor votes and keep notes of all open discussion.
Some changes can be done right away and some cannot until next season. Everything will be taken into consideration by USACI but all changes, voted on or not, will be pending review and approval of the board.
We will put hotly debated issues to a member wide vote.
As for the agenda, we are taking ideas from members now. If you have an agenda item please submit it ASAP.
Hope this answers your questions. | |

| Something I think would be neat and help change our image is hosting a car show/stereo comp in conjunction with a volunteer effort.
For instance, someone organizes a community service project to cut grass for the elderly in the area, or possibly a food drive, etc. USACi helps organize this and promotes it together with a car show stereo comp. USACi members, competitors, and car show participants are asked to help out with the drive or project and are given free entry in the show for their efforts. The show should have a demo/kids area and a veteran competitor with good people skills would demo "clean" music in their vehicle or show off their SQ install and allow people to listen. Demonstrations should include some of the theory behind how things work, as well as some look at the amount of time spent to create the vehicle, and talk of how its great for family interaction or spending time with kids etc. Local stereo shops can buy booths near the demonstration area. Possibly have some sort of games, perhaps "guess that tone" something creative though.
This would build USACi and car audio up as guys who help the community, give the kids a place to play, and provide an environment for families to enjoy.
You may not make a ton of money off each of these shows, but it would help build the name in the area so when you have shows not associated with volunteering you still get many of the same people because of the type of image you've built in the area.
I guess this was more of an idea/suggestion than something for the agenda but it could certainly work. Obviously there would be no bikini contests, or slick chics at these shows, and things would have to be kept clean but I think you would get an influx of people with good support for continuing to have shows in the area.
My two cents... | |

| I'd also be willing to bet that you could get local businesses or corporations to sponsor the show, provide food, etc. because they will support something that is beneficial to the community. I could see this being a way to get manufacturers back in the mix as well.
We volunteer whenever possible in this area and where our company logos and represent the company. It creates a positive image in the communities, and lets people know more about our company in a family environment. Its beneficial to us as well as the community we are helping.
If you want more competitors and more "new blood" this could be the ticket. Now that I'll be back in Baton Rouge permanently (99% sure anyway) I may get with Greg and see if we could organize something like this. | |

That's why somebody pays you the big bucks! Awesome ideas! Would I be able to do the show and still win the grass mowing for the elderly? LOL | |

| Haha no, but that could be an additional event at the show, lawn mower racing On a serious note, watching an SPL competition is boring. There must be other things for people to do in order to get attendance up. | |

| Many of the mom and pop shops in smaller towns or even medium sized cities attend local football games or community events. The kids know them as the audio guy and generally think they are pretty cool people. The kid's parents have money, therefore we approach the shows with a different perspective. Parental/community approved, we get a lot more support and open up to a bigger audience.
I think charity shows in the past didn't work out because of the profit structure. Rather than participating in an effort in the community, USACi held a show and just donated part of the proceeds to a charitable organization. By getting involved and working with the community you don't have to donate the proceeds from the show. You've already got USACi's name out in a positive way and donated time which is often times more valuable than money and remembered more as well. | |

| These events would have to be planned very meticulously and coordinated with other community organizations but with proper planning could be what USACi needs to grow its membership and participation to levels we had 10 years ago.
My parents have never been a fan of me going to audio comps with very valid reasons. If high school kids told their parents they are going to a food drive/community service event that so happens to be combined with a crank it up or car show, not only would the parents likely be ok with their attendance but may contribute or encourage their participation.
I think we've been looking in the wrong places for competitive growth of the organization. Occasionally you have to step out for a while and look at it from a different perspective. | |

| i know that there has always been a big deal with pricing at shows for instance us mebers pay the same as the non members, which is kinda crummy. i just got back from a meca show and it was a double point event and i payed 20 bucks per event and didnt have to pay to get into the show the guys that didnt pay for a membership had to pay 25 per event, in the past it has been said that the members would pay a differnt amout at the shows also the nice thing was the price and info was posted up front how much it was gana be very nice, and there was money involed with the show. and i got 2 metals for over all show performace and install for a spl vehicle. the show was a little event but it was very well orqinized not a rush deal to start or finish, but basicly i think that pricing should be better for members and not change as much as thay do i understand that the price may change per points event but i have been to doubl single and triple point shows multaple of them and not one time for any of the events were the same price, for example like all triple shows like 30 , double 25 ,single 20 and stay this way all year, there has been alot of people i know that has complaned about this all 09 season | |
