| I know it was posted somewhere, if amp A does 3000 watts max at 1 ohm and 1500 watts rms at 1 ohm which is used to class placement.
MAX RATING 3000 @ 1 OHM 1500 @ 2 OHM 750 @ 4 OHM
RMS RATING 1500 @ 1 OHM 750 @ 2 OHM 375 @ 4 OHM

it is in the rules. highest advertised rating divided down to 4 ohm. so if they call it a 10kamp on any paperwork or the box then its a 10kw amp. i dont care if its a sony and only actualy does 200w if they say 10k then its 10k

| I see, there are a lot of companys that use words like max ratings and dynamic power and wondered if usaci had considered those types of amps. I remember someone using a powerbass 4000 watt max amp but said 2000 watts rms also and was used in 0-600 stock. | |

| This is from the rules,
A car audio system’s total wattage shall be determined by the highest manufacturer rated output divided by the proper number to ascertain the 4 ohm power output, or the manufacturer’s 4 ohm rating, whichever is higher. If any amplifiers rating cannot be determined, that amplifier will be moved to the highest power class in that division until such time as a rating can be determined. USACI reserves the right to independently test any amplifier to determine the true RMS power rating and reclassify that amplifier as needed.
Th last sentence is the one that has me puzzled, "usaci reserves the right to independently test any amplifier to determine the true rms rating." is it the rms rating or max power that usaci is looking for. Sorry for questioning the rules, it just throws me for a loop sometimes.

| No need to worry I have never seen anyone tested unless its like a record run or a regional or world finals. They just walk to your car look and verify and look up the specs on your amp with thier wi-fi....At least thats what the do up here in the Mo. | |

| Correct on the powerbass amp.
I had one that was the ASA 2000.1d and on the amp it said 4000watts, but manual specified a different rateing. I asked Ralph on which rateing would be used, and he said the manual, so I was legal for 0-600.

| What if the manual shows both ratings, max power and rms power? | |
