Rules changed for people in the vehicle?

Subject: Rules changed for people in the vehicle? Wed Sep 02, 2009 12:02 am

Fairly novice at Usac, but has there been a rule change this year on how you can have people in the vehicle? Can you still have somebody in the pass seat putting the meter in the kick and have the owner running the deck in the driver's seat?
Also in prostock, can you have the back panels in a crx out?

1 person on opposite side of mic and that person has to be the registered person in that class........

Panels dont have to be in at prostock but Must be in for stock. hope this helps

let me correct u there jimbo all panels can be removed as long as its behind the b piler and under the window line

so only 1 person in the vehicle? You can't have a big guy in the pass side holding the mic with his foot? Was that a rule at last years finals?

No one can be on the same side as the mic or hold it for that matter PERIOD.

That is the way it WAS.

Only the person competing can be in the car to run, and they have to sit on the opposite side that mic is.

Yeah we have real numbers now LOL but I liked the manned score better.....oh well.

Ok, I get it then. That must be the big new rule this year then. How much has that affected people's scores? I am sure that has dropped the scores a bit without having the big guy in the pass seat?
So the question is? How will the scores compare to last year's finals with this change?

I think they will still go up.

yes scores will go up do every year but as far as a diff in score just have to test and build for unmanned

How do you keep the mic in place now if you can't have a guy there? Can you have a little jig? If so, what are the rules on how you can make the jig?

Yup, barely any Usac shows there. I like the format though and I would like to try putting up a decent number.
Hard to do it without being able to see how you set things up though.
I am assuming you can use a mic jig though.
