Enclosure Setup

Im getting ready to build my new enclosure, what i have so far is:

48w x 22d x 15h = 7.44 inner cubes

the port i came up with is 13.5 h x 7 w x 10 l which if calculated right is about 94.5 sq in of port area tuned to around 40hz.

My question is does this all sound right ?

i think thats going to tune a little more than 40.. id try around 13 inches for 40 . But over all sounds like your on track.. although if if fits your budget some 6 inch areo ports would be nice.. is this for daily or SPL? if its for SPL screw the tunning freq and just play with the port length..because your just going to havew to find what the set up in your car likes for length rather than a specific enclosure tune.

u can play a little more with the aero ports to get the port lenth right and to get what ur car likes

If your port is a square port (not a slot port) then you would be tuned for around 43-44 hz. If this is a slot port, this would change to a lower frequency as the effective port length is greater on a slot port which loads off a side wall of the enclosure (top/bottom/side, etc) as opposed to one which just hovers like an aero port would. Also, you need to account for displacements from your ports, speakers, and bracing (if you use any).
