The way I used to do these cars is bypass the factory amp behind the seat. If I remember corrctly the factory alarm was ran through amp and the car would not start unless it was plugged in. Just bypass the amp, run speaker wires from back to front w/ a turn on off the fuse box (I used an ign fuse) make sure you plug the amp back up after you cut the speaker wires and you should be good. I tried using amp modules on older caddilacs before and never had much luck with them.

i was on same track but this car has no amp in trunk you can pop the speakers behind radio , there is a relay for keyless be hind rear seat , already added power , car has been here two days now it has happened even with dactory radio pluged in i think it is the VATS system messing up , i do work for local dealer just spke to service manager , he agrees radio should not stop car from starting or give display on dash , he thinks key cylinder is worn out , if so what do i do about all my time in car .

It has an amp bro.... Its a great big fornicating plug behind radio right? And no clear tubing to tell.... But if you look on middle of back wall facing trunk its there with about 75 wires or so .. The twisted ones are the speaker outs. doors and dash and tweets are all there.....

x2 all those cars are factory amped. I used to work on lots of caddies, atleast 1 or 2 a week here in memphis...lol. If it has the resistor in the key have them try a spair, maybe the resistance in the key has changed for some reason. You can also bypass the vats with resistors so if it is a key or an ignition problem it wont make a differance, just have to put a aftermarket alarm on it.

Not to change the subject. But, what are you trying to imply? People in Memphis drive a lot of caddilacs? |
