Class???

hi im new here, i was wondering what class i would be in if i compet i have a 08 dodge ram with 4 15's with a bed cut powered by 4 RF 1500's and 2 RF 600.4's for mids and highs stock alt at the moment and 1 kenetik 1800 under hood and 4 kenetik 2400's in the bed, well hope some one can help. also where do i go to see where there will be show in my area thanks

yes, 166s is what it would take for world finals.local im sure a good ol 154 would take it .and yeah that would be the class for you

Take out amps

classes are by the 4 ohm rating of an amp, add up all the amps 4 ohms and that's your class. FYI they also include the 4 channel amps

ok where could i find some more of this out at? the rule book?

If the mid amps are also being counted I've been competing in the wrong class, whoopsies. So do you just unplug them to drop class or do they have to be removed from the car entirely?

Tom, the rules state that the amps have to be removed from the car completely not to be counted. This means even if it is sitting in its' OEM packaging not connected to anything and still sitting in the car it should be counted according to the rules.

This rule is relaxed a bit by most directors at smaller local events though. At regionals and finals it is definately enforced (well suppose to be).

Well dag nabit Gabe, that takes all the fun out, lol, glad Jaffe is laxed on that but when I go to Tulsa i'll be sure to bring tools to remove the mid amps. By the way, are you and Ralph going to be at the August 9th show in Glendale? Let Ralph know I want a rematch in consistancy, we have one win on each other and we need a tiebreaker.

I think we will be at the event ... just not sure about competing. I can always break out my 125dB again though you never know, lol.

I am in the middle of school to become an EMT right now so my time is dedicated to just that right now (and working out at the gym 5 days a week ). But I don't mind taking a few hours off to hang out at a show though.

well really,in any class in usaci you have to be over/at a 160 to be competitive. well maybe not stock 0-600 and trunk. but maybe ya do. i dunno

Hell, Rowland, I'm not hardcore like you guys, for finals I'm hoping for a top 10 finish in 2 classes (mod 0-1000 and SB4) and finally hitting my goal of 150db. I'm going to final for only 2 reasons, to see the best of the best in the sport I love and to get the only hardware I plan on leaving with and that would be my region 10 points plaque... with my name spelled wrong again, of course This is all about having fun right?
