I am purchasing my new sub amp in July and I was originally planning to run 2 AQ2200D's strapped but after talking to the people at Audioque I think I am going to run the AQ3500D but at .5ohm. Is anyone else running this amp at .5ohm daily? And if so are you having any issues with heat or any kind of other problems? Just curious before I purchase it. Thanx, Tom

| Tom, Albeit I didn't speak to anyone at Audioque, I did look up that amp on their web site. I didn't see anything that indicates that it will run at .5 ohm, let alone to run it in that configuration all day. _________________ Mike Jaffe

Yes it will, but will not be covered under waranty if so. U shouldnt have any problems as long as your electrical is up to snuff.

Hey Mike, I've been E-mailing the guys at Audioque all day, they must be sick of me by now lol, and they guarantee that running the amp at .5ohm will be no problem but made it clear at .5ohm the warranty is voided but they told me the AQ3500D at .5ohm will put out more power than 2 AQ2200D's strapped at 2ohm. They told me the amp will be fine down to 9.5 volts, if my electrical gets down that low I should have the car removed from my possesion lol. Since you looked at the website then you should have seen it does 750X1 at 4ohm at 12.8 volts so that will keep me in mod 0-1000 right? Bruce, are you running the AQ3500D's or did you go with the AQ2200D's? how are they working out for you? I know Skip swears by the amps but he is running the AQ2200D's.

Bruce says the 3500 barely edges the M3 on 12v but the 3500 should its rated higher.

Sanman, I just want to be safe when I get to finals and stay in mod 0-1000 with the amp rated at 750X1 at 4ohm but at 12.8 volts. Don't want ralph to pull something like "they are supposed to be rated at 14.4 volts so you must go into mod 1001-2000 and enjoy getting your ass handed to you" I'm pretty confident I can get a top 10 finish in mod 0-1000 but not to sure mod 1001-2000

Hey Skip, in the E-mail I recieved from Audioque they said its always better to run the amps unstrapped if you can get the ohm load you want from a singte amp, now I am not a fan of running .5 ohm especially in the heat out here when we get 115-120 degrees for 3 straight months but I figure the car sits in the garage all week and I only take it out on my wekends or if I am driving to a show. Plus they told me tha 3500 will put out more power at .5ohm then 2 2200's strapped at 2ohm. maybe when I rebuild the amp rack I'll incorporate some kind of fan cooling setup for the amp

Just for fun if I decide to go with the 2 AQ2200D's where do you find a 400 amp ANL fuse? Monster and Stinger only make up to 300 amps and if you google 400 amp ANL fuse it lists marine shops, is that where you get one that big at a marine shop?
