Wire size from amp to speaker ?

What would the proper wire guage be from a Crossfire VR1000d to my FI Q12d2 ? The length from amp to speaker is about 4-5 ft.

why is your length from your amp to your sub is 4 to 5 ft. dude that is way too far lol i thi nk mine is like maybe 2ft if not 1ft. they say the shorter the better but that has been a rule of thumb for me now.

12 ga is what i use on mine cause i think anything bigger is just pointless

8 gauge is best....... i love those old vr1000d's.......i know where 12 are.... Very Happy

dude may get rid of them if ya ever need one lmk.

1/0 to 4ga reducer.....4ga to 8ga reducer and BAMMM into subs

Make it easy and go with the biggest you can put into the sub.

well its one amp into a DVC FI Q12 d2, what would be the easiest way to get 2 runs of 8ga into the spring loaded connectors ?

I think you might see some improvement if you decide to upgrade... cause i know on BIG set-ups any little thing can make an improvement and wire SIZE and QUALITY is IMPORTANT!!!

Drill two 1/4" holes in the outside of your box and take both positive/neg wires and put ring terminals on the ends of wires. Then put a bolt through the terminals and stick through the box with a nut on the other end. then all you have to do is connect wire to outside of box with a single wire. Here's a pic:
