| funny thing is that contraption they built was actually louder than everyone that has posted on here about it,lol. it did a 161.8 legal on the dash before the surround tore, lol. guess they arent to bad. imagine if they had some real equipment. id be curious to see what they could do. and the first show was to see if you could actually break a car with sound, and they did. the mistake they made ws they did a luxury car with a moonroof and that was the weakest link! popped rite out. | |

| yeah i mean 159db isn't that loud for a daily playable vehicle. Especially one that wasn't built with numbers in mind. I mean its not louder than any of the cars on here or anything. Its a show truck not an spl truck. Just my two cents lol. | |

not really a flag ship sub, it was made so people like professional athletes could have something that the high school kid down the street didn't have. Its more of a statement or a status sub if you will. So people can say their sub cost more than your car lol.

| I just watched that clip and I havent seen that much smoke pour out of a vehicle since I sat in a truck that blew a, wait for it... MTX RFL 15. This truck was at CES 2 years ago, beautiful truck with an amazing install but they would not demo it. They claimed it was so loud it was getting sound tickets inside the convention center and they would only demo it for 2 minutes at the top of each hour so like a dumbass I waited for the demo and I must say that is a lot of money for not much sound, I think the 12's above the Jackhammers made more of an impact. Plus anyone remember the Pimp My Ride when they installed the Jackhammer in a Buick Century with 6000 watts and the thing was only doing a 130, granted they installed a Radio Shack meter which peaked at 130. That car was also at CES 2 years ago but they never turned it on, Hmmm | |

| Its funny we had a sub smoke like that at the nw audio show and yes it was an mtx sub. The funny thing was it still worked just fine. It actually did it twice before it blew. | |

| The Avalanche was built to be a Demo vehicle not to compete against people that talk about doing numbers haha. Really though I give MTX props it looks sick and 15 years ago a 140 was loud so idk each is own 159 is perty good for a demo vehicle even if it only looks intemidating | |

| sooo sounds like there is mix up in mythbuster episodes.......
One episode is to rattle the car apart
Another episode is the ability to set of rifle/gun.
Either episode was entertaining but, I think if any one of the competiton orgs was given a chance instead of a manufacture the outcome would of been more intense.

| I saw the square subs at CES this year, they were in a demo vehicle which had 18 of them (the truck was turned on but not up) I swear they are Kicker subs with the Kicker "K" scratched off (even my friend who is not into audio like me noticed the same thing), they must be made by the same manufacturer. | |

| Definitely not kicker subs. The ones you saw at CES were the TS55 which is the L5 comparison. They claim 4db louder than the kicker sub. I did see a test where both subs were in their own pre fab boxes you buy them in with the same amount of power and it was a 4db difference. They have more excursion which is the reason they claim to be louder I believe. I have been very impressed with them. | |
