| Any opinions on which one is better than the other... or would it be back to the personal opinion and box building... it would be for comps | |

| I got 157.5 out of 3 CVX10's, 153.6 legal on dash with them. This was with one amp and one battery(4000 real watts). They are loud. I dont see the RF stuff performing on this level. Go with Kicker! | |

| lower power woofers work better sometimes because they match your setup better. I tryd some matts in my car and lost 1.5db not saying it's like that all the time but thats my version I'm all about being different I would try the cvx's but if you want a real good answer you need to get a hold of Bill gass he would know more than anyone. BILL GASS WE NEED YOUR EXPERTISE... | |

| I don't know that I would know more than anyone else. Less probably. Bilo is a retard. I would vote for the CVX's from my testing. I might also recommend CVR's from the testing I did this past week, assuming you are still using that 1200.1 Certainly not for everyday use but for burps I would give it a try. That's my $0.02 | |

| P3's have very weak tinsel leads from my experience. Did 2 12's for a buddy in an explorer off a RF 800 watt amp (full best buy system). Hey kept breaking tinsel leads on them but damn it was loud. | |

| Same basics as the daytona of the year. And I think I would go with either, see what works best in your power application and go from there. | |

| I'm a little partial to the RF stuff especially this years new products. I've sent more CVR woofers back under warranty with broken tinsel leads than anything else we sell. However the P3 does not compare with the CVX at all. If you have enough power that is. Remember the CVX is basicly a round L7. The P3 doesn't have the power handling that the CVX has.
Kicker has been our biggest seller for several years but this years RF stuff is holding it's own here at our store. The CVRs might be a good choice like Bill said. Just wacth out for those tinsel leads. | |

| I have not had problems with tinsel leads on the cvr's and we sell a ton of them. How high are your tuning the enclosure's? Just curious | |

| We sell ALOT of the CVRs. MOst of them go into your everyday streetbeaters. Sealed enclosures mostly. Some ported and tuned to around 50-60 for the guys around here. Ironically most of the CVRs that come back are the ones in sealed enclosures built to Kicker specs. Now I must admit some of these things are seeing quite a bit of power. We have spoken many times with Kicker about the broken tinsel leads. They have told us that the leads are the limiting factor on those subs. If they lengthaned them then the pole piece or back plate would then be a hinderence. The P3s on the same power haven't had a problem yet. Of course the P3 has a little more rated power handling than the CVR. Most of our KIcker customers have upgraded to the CVX and not had any more problems. Which is what they were told they should do to begin with but cost always has it's hand in things. Kicker has let them upgrade from cvr to cvx at the usual discounted price and made our customers happy. So far this year we have only had 1 CVX come in blown. They are a very nice woofer. I am just a little partial to RF. I guess what I was trying to get across was a person should match his woofer to the power which he is running if he already has his amps decided but multiple woofers to chose from. The CVX need more power to get loud. With al of that being said. I/we tend to believe in overpowering a woofer before we would use less power. I like having lots of headroom. May be why some of our customers break tinsel leads off of CVRs when they go in and mess with amp setting on their own. A good example of one of our personal setups would be Jasons. He is our store manager and lead installer. He runs a pair of L7 8s in his truck on 1200 watts RMS. The darn thing slams pretty good for 2 8inch woofers. He has blown the surround off of one of them once. When he called Kicker for warranty they asked what size enclosure and power he was running and laughed at him. But they sent him a new woofer and told him to keep it up. Kicker builds a soild woofer that can handle way more power than what they are rated for. Props to them. I personally am an RF fan though | |

| The P3's are nice subs...efficient and light. To many biased opinions on here to know for sure. Both subs will take a different enclosure to do a fair test between the 2 but... it would be well worth the time to try each brand in ther own optimal enclosure and see what's loudest. | |
