| I need advice on my car insurance asap from anybody... i'm going to try and simplify my situation so if you dont get it sorry...
I drive a 2001 BMW 325xi I need full coverage with SR-22 I was with progressive paying aprx $400/mo I switched to Gieco and with my gf (fiance) paid $300/mo I left to do military duty on orders for a week I get back and have two letters in the mail Gieco says they are going to stop covering me and did not file SR-22 Second one says from Iowa DOT that my licence is suspended on 4/9 for not having SR-22 (letter postmarked on 4/8 and recieved on 4/13) I call Progressive and they now want $700/mo for a car i pay a little over $200/mo for
Any advice for me on this situation... anybody want to buy a BMW? lol

| move in town near your work and ride out the storm , keep your car as you could pay it off using the insurance payments to copensate , then get your license back and slow down , your insurance may be high but with the car payed off you will make it | |

| I have to ask, why are your rates so high? Is car insurance that high in Iowa? I live in IL and my wife and i pay 145 a month for full coverage on a 03 chevy crew cab, 99 chevy venture and and 98 ford ranger and that includes 2- $5kw policies for my stereo systems. | |

| The real question is why did they stop coverage ... it really boils down a couple of reasons ...
1) Did not make the payment 2) They found something on your (or hers) driving record that they were not told about
Other then that, I would really go with USAA (like Erik said first) if you are military. They have either been equal to the lowest quote I have gotten or lower. Either way it will always be the best deal.
Here is there number for you 1-800-292-8454 (I just called them btw to add a car that is how I had the number handy, lol)

| All insurance companies are required to provide proof of insurance btw (SR22) to DMV's if requested. | |

i had one accident that only involved me and was not hit against the insurance since it was not covered... but i got failure to maintain control and have multiple speeding tickets from a cpl years ago that are raping me... as far as moving to town... probably cheaper to rent an apartment and pay mortgage than have insurance... but gieco ran my record and still said they would cover me and in the letter it stated my violations and said they would not cover me anymore and they never filed my sr22
