| Yes we just put one in 2 weeks ago. Can listen to music it will cut out when turns are comin up....Can not trick unit into playing videos while driving though if the Nav is connected. If not can ground park brake wire and watch videos while driving (Though my shop would never do this it's illegal ) | |

| AVIC D1/D2 can be set to continue to play music and have the navi commands talk over the music ... it does NOT have to mute the music.
D2 VS D3 is a world of difference. I don't really know where to begin on that! Personally I would just recommend the D3 ... still one of my all time favorites.
If you have any specifics you want to know between them let me know ... I am THE BEST person to ask.

Now I hate to bother you on this but does the nav tray normally always go out? bc i hear that alot.. and does it need a bypass.. I need all the info you can give me so that I have no problems bc I'm more than likely gonna trade it.. BTW how much is it to get the nav tray fixed?

| If I remember correctly the D2 doesnt have a built in dvd player and the nav on it was kinda cheap and had to have a disc. Bypassing it isnt a problem. I would go with the D3 or the F900 like I told ya before. | |

It is the flipping down and stuff that starts to go after a lot of use. It does happen don't get me wrong, but it all depends on use. As far as the repair ... the Pioneer authorized repair centers only charge $105 shipped for that repair. After as performing the whammy ( ) that really gives you the ability to enter address' while in motion. **Disclaimer: This may impeed the ability to drive and cause wrecks** You will still need another dvd player of some sort to watch movies on the D2. The ipod interface is crappy also ... I mean outdated and slow. Keep the questions coming.

| It isn't a cable for those ... it is an adapter with really slow access speed. If you have a 4gb or larger ipod you are going to hate it, lol. you will have control over audio though. It does not do any ipod video. they are suppose to check everything if it is sent in. there is step-by-step instructions on a previously mentioned site for the whammy. | |

| it is meant for avic-n3 and older, avic-d2 and older, and avic-z3 and older. The other units to inlude the new avic-f series and soon to be the new (blank) series all use a different direct connect cable as far as navigation units go. | |

| d3 requires a CD-I200 cable istead of that CD-IB100 II adapter.
The D3 with that cable will not play movies off of the touch also or charge it with version 2.0 and above.
