Yes he meant military. It is the government rate, so ask for that rate if you have a government ID card.

Please DO NOT BOOK YOUR ROOMS YET. USACI is negotiating a rate and the number of rooms in our block will affect the cost of rental on the facility. If you negotiated rate is more expensive THEN BOOK outside our block.

Advertising on the forums and cardomain, probably will not get any more spectatotrs to the event... maybe a competitor or two. but everyone knows whos going or not by now.... USACi could probably get real close at guessing how many competitors will show up right now,,,, Spectators through the doors is what has got to happen...... This is a huge car show town. rarely are their any shows at this particular building, mostly the IP building (gold Driller) but a huge car show town none the less.... i little bit of strategic advertising will go a long way......

I just did a trip tik and it shows 1300 miles or 18 hours from Las Vegas so thats closer for me than Fort Worth so I guess thats a positive. Ralph, are you doing plaques for region points leaders again? and if so will my name be spelled correctly this time, haha. Anyway looking forward to it and now just waiting to hear 'bout the hotel

Finals in Vegas for 2010!!!!

Dman, unfortunately with Jaffe temporarily out of action, GET WELL SOON MIKE, I can't find any shows out on the west coast let alone here in Vegas. So far I have only been able to hit 4 shows (2 here in Vegas and 2 in Arizona, I was gonna hit up the Farmington show but weather.com kept showing snow and my car hates any form of water). I wish it was like the east coast out here we could have shows everywhere even pawnshops. Maybe when Jaffe gets better he will come up with a couple of shows out here if not I'm gonna piss off a couple of people because the next closest person to me in region 10 is 100 points away and the rules say if there are not enough points for a certain region they will invite on a curve, whoopsies

Finals here in Vegas would be great but if everyone from the east coast is complainig about the distance to Tulsa can you imagine the gripes about coming to Vegas...then again it is Vegas, baby. I remember a long, long time ago the NACA used to hold a competition during the CES show out here. That is when I first saw Wayne Harris' Exterminator hearse, when it was all MTX, and the PPI equiped Ghostblasters ambulance. Good memories. That would be cool to do that again... Ralph?!?

i have been trying for over a year to make them see the bigger picture over on Drag with no success Sema or Ces Finals location would be what this sport needs!!!

CES for finals would not work, being in January makes it too late in the season plus 12volt vendors are dropping by leaps and bounds but SEMA hosting finals makes perfect sense. It is held late October early November, Every 12volt manufacturer is present and on display and over 100,000 attendees, it would be 1 huge party. The only downfall I see is room rates go up for SEMA but in this economy the casino's are hurting so bad they are offering fantastic deals. Lets start a petition "finals at SEMA"

This is great news to hear. I definately will be at Finals this year. Ive been at every Finals since 2000 but wasnt able to make it last year. I cant wait to gt there this year. Im sure it will be very successful. Advanced Consumers here I come...lol. Cant wait to see yall!

is there any way we could get some shows in the Pa eastern Oh area so that finals would be more apealing to folks that would like to compete in both orgs?

Great point buddy. Don't count out Florida as well. These areas are the competitor base of that organization.

Over on the othe forum it appears that Wayne hasn't said yes or no. Also appears he may be in a contract with a hall for the next 2 yrs, unless he can get out of it.

From what Ralph said in the Finals website thread they don't have all the details worked out yet, so maybe one of the details will be that Db Drags will be having Finals in more than one location, which they should do. I think it would be great if Drags and USACi would have dual locations in North America. It worked out pretty well for Drags last year and I'm pretty sure we'd see more than just 1 USACi competitor from the Northeast at Finals too.

and if u look at the world finals page...says nothin bout drag being there ...?? so idk

Not a bad idea

Wayne finally made the announcement in the Drags forums, not a lot of happy people now. Hope it was worth it. Draggers are already asking about membership fee refunds and shows are being cancelled.

Well as far as the East Coast draggers, the majority are skipping Finals in favor of a unofficial East Coast Finals 3X event in NY in Sept. This one will have a bigger turnout than Tulsa. Shouldn't have any effect at all on the USACi portion of Finals.

bad part is most companies I have spoekn with so far this year. HATED the multiple locations for drag. because they buy booth space show up to see 20 people at this location. they are much more in favor or both orgs at the same place. as a matter of fact a few sponsors are talking about buying booth space again this year when they havnt for several years. so at least it seems the manufacture side of it is working.

It's a great idea for the manufacturers, hopefully it doesn't turn out as bad as I think it will.

lol... well, that's a real positive statement... And if that's the event the Psychos are talking about, it definitely sounds huge. Regardless, those of us going to "Finals" will be having a GREAT time. Talked to VanRiper today, and even if he doesn't bring the Phoon, he's coming to spectate, so I give him props for that.

Hopeing he brings the phoon. Be great to see alot of the big names at finals, most anyways.

May do the, gay thing as some call it, and bring a book for the top guys to sign. LOL

well i think it will be a great event fot usaci, plenty of time to get points and sounds like a nice location, hopefully more of the draggers get on board, and if there not going, at least accept it and not deter others from going
