| Seriously, get a cable with a nice quality end, good soldering or cold welded and the proper size gauge wire you need with adequate shielding. You may see like I did that the top of the line Hooker RCA cable holds its own with many. I run a Audioquest Diamondback front to rear...why? Because I had it from another install. It's a $400 RCA...it's advantage was wire gauge though, other than that...well, we cut it up. LOL. | |

| proof is in the pudding, you do not need to spens a bunch of money on cables. you would be better off spending that money on something else to improve your system. | |

| I have excellent equipment. I have excellent friends/installers who are willing to work with me on this car.
I most likely won't go the Kimber or Pear way, unless by some stroke of luck, they will work with me and discount the wires ( like that will happen )
I have used twisted cables in the past with IXOS (sp?) connectors. They were in my last install.
I have heard that wire is wire, yet, if that were true, wouldn't companies like Kimber Kable and Pear lose profits and eventually go bankrupt?
I'm just sayin...this is a serious discussion. I have owned in the past the top of the line RCA's from Stinger, Phoenix Gold, and then my own twisted RCA's and none of them I kept.
truth be known, I just wanted to get some honest answers about what types of wire you are using in your rides.

| Champion is speaking great words of wisdom to you, bro. You see what I said. Pure silver is the best conductor, fact. I'd still take a proper gauge set of coppers with a nice pair of ends. Done deal. | |

this discussion has been brought up a number of times in the past and there is always some super geek tweek fag that thinks cables make a huge difference

| or pick some really inexpensive cables and prove a point.... Its really simple,,, as long as the interconnects are secured properly to the wire, you do not really need to worry about much else... there was a time in history when the more expensive cables used "twisted technology" for lack of better terms.... but keep in mid that the elctronics used back then wasnt near as good og rejecting noise as todays products are.... so if you have noise now days,,,, dont blame it on your cables... the culprit would be a piece of equipment most likely...................... | |

I can completely agree with this post. I have run twisted signal wire with some sweet interconnects and had nothing but good results. My original post was more like what is everyone running, not what do you (John Q Public) think is the best wire.

just pick a mid grade cable and go with it 2nd, As long as it has proper shielding to reject interference you'll be fine. Any mid grade would be adequate.

| Ahhh SLAB actually makes a good point... kinda??? depending on the qaulity of your electronics..... the qaulity of your cables may or may not be of a factor.... cheap or inexpensive amps may need cables with extensive sheilding to help in rejecting noise that might get picked up from the cables run from front to back.... a nicer better built piece of electronic may and most like will not need the more expensive shielded cable as it should have a good power suplly and a great input stage to help in rejecting any noise... """"So moral to this story is to spend you money on better amps, and speakers and not on your cables"""" | |
