Question about Padre

With all the fighting going on in Mexico and the border towns is there going to be extra security at the show? The reason I ask is I have booked my hotel and leaving Friday but last night on the local news they listed Padre as one of the places to stay away from. I am not saying that I am not going but I will have my wife and daughter with me. Doesn't make much sense to me that Padre would be affected by the drug wars just saying what the local news reported last night.

By the way I am not trying to panic anyone I have only heard this on my LOCAL news, I have not heard this from any other news source.
