I came in early Thuirsday so that I could walk the hall and check out some of the booths before I had to work. Pioneer's booth is always located in the Central hall because we are tied together with home.
The north hall is nothing compared to what it was. There was a huge section blocked off in the back as well as a lot of lounge areas to sit in. It is pretty sad to see what the economy is doing to our industry. Hang in there though we will turn around. Just hope that it happens sooner then later.
I overheard some talk on the floor that a fairly decent sized company is getting out of car audio. I have not comfirmed it so I don't want to say for sure just yet.
Here is what I got to see so far. JL Audio probably has the best demo vehicle so far in terms of mods. I will be taking pictures tomorrow but that is what I noticed so far.
I have also seen some great new products that hit the market this go around. I will try and post some information on all that when I get the chance.
If you are CES I would recommend visiting the Samsung booth in the central hall. It is very massive and quite impressive. Don't forget to stop by the Pioneer booth next door and say hello to me. I am working the floor, and was kind of bored because of the lack of traffic.
Bottom line, the traffic was low. It is low overall. It is tuff for a lot of areas out there, but keep your chin up.
