Any ideas of getting loud!!

First topic message reminder :

I currently have 2 08 L7 15" subwoofers powered by 2 zx1500.1 amps in a ported box tuned to 38 hertz currently. Any ideas of getting more on the meter with out changing classes (currently in stock 601-1800)

Has any one used a jeep grand cherokee in competition. (newer cherokees) With similar setup if possible.

They do pretty good, friend of mine did a test with his 2000 explorer same box in a Jeep was about the same number

I'd go 4 12s myself, you have enough power to be decently loud, prolly a 51ish legal and still be daily

Sell the 15s to some kid around you and get you 4 12 TypeRs.

That is a good idea but I might want to stay with kicker L7 12's just because I have had good results with kicker in the past.

HHHHHHHHHHHHHHAAAAAAAAAAAA you dont know what your talking about NOOB! L7s sound good for music to if you put them in the right box! hell from what skip01 told me the 8s i let him use are louder then your truck!

i just did a daily /comp box for a guy here in atlantic with 4 l7 15s in his jeep grand cherokee . with 1 small extra battery he needs more bat power but and he burps 156.8 always and with full charge on bats burps 157.4 ish i forget ... 2.5 cubes per sub and a slot port back all under the window line...

Tracy corrected me one time on another forum, that L7s have indeed won in SQ before . Dk when or who but they did.

These lil 8s sound amazing, Kenny might let me borrow them til next show so some can hear them if ya want

How much power were those L7 15s getting and what are the dimensions of that box (include port area and length). I would love to hit above a 150 daily driver and still use the same box for competition.

I think that guy from Prestige Markey the one that has the Probe he has won SQ classes for a couple of years with L7s

tune up a little higher. mabey use 2 ports one long narrow one for bangin' and pull that out to reveal a wide shot port for spl.

on your box note man the max dimensions that you gave is over 16.5 cu. ft. you have more than enough room shorthen the width about 6 in. tune you a port to about 50hz youll be pondin hard everyday and youll pull over a 150!!!!! im runnin a 2002 blazer 2 door 2 memphis mojo 15's dual 2's 1mcd2500 and im sittin pretty over a 150 in a 7 cu. ft. box can call the number cause its done in house not at a usaci show so it doesnt count

40.5 inches (3.375 feet) x 32 inches (2.66 feet) x 17 inches (1.416 feet) = 10.66 cubic feet. I have recently built a spl-specific box tuned around 51 hertz with subs up, ports back and peaked at 150.4 db. Going to try subs forward, ports back to see if I make a difference.

i think you have your figures wrong bro 40.5x32x17=22032 divide that by 1328 =16.59 cu. ft. minus driver displacement but keep the subs up fire port to the back all you have to do is figure the port out thats the whole key

You divide by 1728, not 1328.

Wow I hope he made a honest mistake but yeah 1728 not 1328.

I used the 12 volt to determine the size of the box.
