| FYI, Charles's runs were absolutely legal. Some of you want to know the ame of the song,. Get a dictionary. look under 'T' for "test". You will see right there. Great numbers, congradultions Charles.

| This is my thoughts on this and don't need to hear from any nut huggers I was there and I heard a repeated long high music during his run, this run was nothing like the rest of us did, me, Mike and Jeff!! This was not streetbeat music by any means of the word. IMO It was a very high tone burp music for 30 seconds and great job on it being a very loud 30 second burp cause that was very impressive in its self, but this again was nothing like what me, Mike and Jeff played. Check my videos of SB runs in my thread. https://usaci.forumotion.com/general-discussion-f11/2008-usaci-world-finals-pics-video-t5037.htmIt sounded just like Kumar's video, long repeated high burp notes. Charles without a doubt is one of the best multi World Champions on this forum, but sometimes the pressure is too great on these guys and they will do whatever they have too, to remain on top. His ride for Saturday did a low 150's the day before and barely did a 158's on his 12v/14v system in SB4 and then he was going to change to the 16 volt system for SB5 and ended up switching rides and did a crazy number. Now you guys are telling he was going to gain 5 and half db from going from 14v to 16v system??? It's really hard to know that streetbeaters can't not win their classes due to one note wonders with high tone music coming in acting as streetbeater, FYI rest of us drove our streetbeaters there. Charles you are a multi World Champion many times over and you have a ton of friends and followers that will stand up for you. I am a nobody with no Championships under my belts, but I know how to be FAIR. I did SB5 by choice and not SB4 which I am no longer in the industry and I had to paid for my system, had a 14volt system and setup as a true streetbeater. I did a 158.9db streetbeat run even after losing most my subs in the last few seconds. I could have been a world champion right now, not 5th like I ended up in SB5. All in all, we need to gear this toward Streetbeat setups like for one, cap the music for under 60 hz songs only, or streetbeaters will never win their own class. Charles I have no doubt that you couldn't build a true streebeater that would kick our butts, but I don't want to rebuild my system again as a one note wonder just to beat your super high SB score. Congrats Charles you had a awesome weekend and some sick scores. Just my thoughts though (Does this make me a keyboard kowboy )

| The head judge pops in here and says its legit what more do you want?
John you chose your music, not him, he was deeemed ok, deal with it. As for his 5 db gain and he can correct me on this if im off, the first run of mid/low 50 was just to get on the board for a rerun the next day after some work. The second run was with I think 2 amps (that arent known for much power on 12v but come alive on 16v) and 2 12v batts the last run they add more amps (i think a total of 6 but could be wrong) and put them on the 16v where the amps come alive.

That is very good point, that I did pick my music. Yes we know that he ran Sat. low so he could rerun the next day, we all know that. But you say he picked his music, that was right for his van Well lets hear what music he picked the next day for his run with his van. (not Choppers) I don't about you Scott but this sounds like streetbeat music to me Nothing like he ran 30 minutes later with another guys ride https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-BArclKz5TkCan you hear the difference

This was a song with a discernable bass track and not tone. I listened to it twice and it is fine for Street Beat.

| At finals Street Beat was the ONLY major problem. Street Beat is currently NOT INCLUDED in the USACI Rules. As such if it is not on that page it is not a SB rule. I feel Street Beat should be part of the USACI rules and will be working to make it so. We need the support of our members to make this division better for everyone. Ideas and suggestions are welcome and needed.
PS: We want to make an SB disk but there is a lot of opposition

| Let me say the runs where all deemed legal sb runs by the head judge. In regards to Charles run, him and I have a past and if anything seemed out of line I would have been the first to speak up. (no hard feeling Charles, the past is the past, wish I would have had some time to talk with you) Anywho the run was legal and not a tone. I do agree the sb classes and rules could use some tweaking at this point. | |

| Maybe that should be in the changes as well. How many "street beat" with no speakers to produce vocals and such? This class has gotten far away from the original intent of the class. | |

you know guys i feel yea an the head bald guy in charge has spoken an if says its legit its legit but i am with jon an schwitz this class has gotton out of hand man an need some tweaking. rob i feel you too man but like i said this class has got wayyyy out of hand wheither its sb 1 or 5. it does need some work an some rules an i think the sb cd would be a great idea but i think for that it would have to work with all the street beat guys to get that under way. to the test issue, its not about testing its about i want to know what song it was, i can't usess that song in a trunk car cause if you have worked with a trunk car i have to see one that peaks over 56hz. so its not about testing forget that its about the name of the song. but if you guys say its a song then whatever.

| I'm guessing it's time for the old fart to chime in. As one of the authors of "Street Beat", I feel entitled to an opinion here.
First of all, SB is still working as it was intended. The basic premise was to answer all of the requests from our members to create a "music" competition format. When we wrote the rules for it, we were obsessed with keeping it simple in order to encourage participation in it. It appears we met that goal.
A good deal of the challenge to winning a SB contest is spending the time to find an appropriate song that works best in your existing system or re-tune the system to get as much SPL as possible from it for 30 seconds.
There have been several requests for USACi to produce an SB CD and make its use mandatory. As well, and as Ralph stated, there is also an overwhelming amount of opposition to it. Personally, I have mixed emotions regarding it. I am aware that producing a worthwhile SB CD is very costly. There are many fees to be paid to the artists and record companies as well as the actual production of it.. Then, if the CD is not well accepted, its sales would be poor and the money and time wasted. In my humble opinion, it would also deter from the enjoyment of searching for "the best of the best" songs for your particular system.
