| ok never ran 16v alt before, i have them all mounted under the hood and belts all line up nice ,so now time to wire them up....here is the dumb question how to wire them up now that they are in place | |

| Are they externally regulated or internal? What kind of alts are they? | |

| If they are like ours they will have to be turned on and off with a switch and cannot go above a certain rpm and def cant be driven while on cuz they will go poof.......We use ours at outdoor shows when and if we run several classes otherwise the batts are charged week or two before shows???????????? | |

| As long as they share the same ground they can be switched on 12volts just like running amplifiers on 16v you switch them on and off with 12v but Ive never heard of a delco 16v internally regd alt ??????????? learned sumn new I guess | |

| so i can use my wire from my 12v alt and just toggle it so the 16s arnt charging all the time | |

| Which wire from your 12v alt the 16v alts will still need a 16v field does that make sense? | |

| gotta question kinda the same thing but also are their any 16 volt alts you can run daily? I've never messed with 16 volt,but my amps I have now can be run at 16 so thought about lookin into it. | |

| Yes there are 16v alts for daily use, most of the ones out there are for diesels and this is why they cant handle high rpms. Most any alt shops can fix you up a 16v alt for any application, its a simple upgrade for most. | |
